The two partnered up to deliver ruthless bars over a relentless barrage of production quite equivalent in their melodic assault.  “Rose Gold” is a clear stand out as is it’s accompanying video: a simple visual with Heem standing in front of a glistening set of rims, riding around and spitting fire.  This is the track where you’ll catch the lyricist striving to his best ability to distance himself from other southern rappers, as he states “I rap like the north but a n***a from the south.”  Bozack supremely constructs the proper space for Heem to excel in his flow.

The kick drum beat on “Paranoia Freestyle” allows the emcee to spit for over three minutes without a hook, while keeping the listeners ear.  On a more introspective cut, “Even Thugz Cry,” Heem struggles with the cyclical problems that come with life on the streets and it serves as a welcomed reprieve from some of the harder tracks.

I find myself to have a great respect and admiration for skilled producers.  Everyone who loves hip-hop really appreciates a dope emcee, specially in 2017.  However, me?  Although I’ve kicked a few bars here and there, I really feel connected to the making of instrumentals so my regard for production is a bit deeper.  In this case, the good homie, Bozack Morris, partners up with Queens heavyweight, and Viceland’s F*ck That’s Delicious co-star, Meyhem Lauren, to deliver a street certified heater entitled, “Reality Rap“.

Bozack is a Toronto native who aims to solidify his name in 2017.  You might have gotten a taste of what he brings to the game as this new gem is a follow up to last year’s sold out “Loose Cannons 001” release which featured Conway & Westside Gunn.  On the sequel, you’ll hear how Laurenovich remains sucka-free, while reciting true, street survival bars over a dark, eerie, lo-fi soundtrack, sounding somewhat like a death rally.

we in corona, Lemon Ices lookin righteous/
came from queens so my advice is keep your hand right where your knife is/

Over the past several years, Toronto-based deejay/producer, Bozack Morris has been building his fan base with slick remixes and instrumental slappers.  However, this time around, the beatsmith is here to make his biggest statement yet with the equally hypnotic and raw “Never Change”.  The track features the rugged and gritty, Buffalo, New York duo of Conway and Westside Gunn.  The Griselda records signees have garnered quite a buzz this year, and once you familiarize yourself with their music, you’ll understand.

The two emcees make for a wild juxtaposition to Morris’ instrumental, which is fueled by twinkling piano keys, and a crazy chopped-up vocal sample. With other vocalists behind the wheel, this track could have gone in a different direction, perhaps as a more melodic cut but Conway and Gunn are simply too damn grimy to let that sh*t go down.  You’re playing yourself if you don’t hear the soulful touches across “Never Change.”

There’s a good reason for that, as Bozack finds inspiration in the work of Hip-Hop giants like DJ Premier, Alchemist, J Dilla, and Marley Marl. His goal, like theirs, is to keep the culture’s spirit alive while continuing to innovate, and that’s just what he’s doing here with the help of Conway and Gunn. The Machine sums up the track perfectly when he spits, “My shit is too classic and gully,” though it’ll be hard to not keep quoting Gunn’s line of “I stay fresher than you ni**as on my worst day.”
