Juelz Santana made a much anticipated comeback at the end of last year connecting with the charismatic Def Jam Recordings rookie, Dave East. Juelz Santana & Dave East brought together a PSA with a feature from incarcerated GS9 members Bobby Shmurda and Rowdy Rebel on the Jahlil Beats-produced banger “Time Ticking” in December 2016. Now, the duo reloads the arsenal with a set of visuals to complement the banger.

The Harlem emcees released the Kid Art-directed visuals on Tuesday. Juelz Santana and Dave East post on the New York block for the NYC anthem with both expecting to feed the streets with heat for Summer ’17. Juelz delivers a statement letting everyone know how he expects his payments for doing business.

“Time ticking gotta get it/Where that money at?/You know if I front you that, I need that money back/You know how I’m coming if I got to come for that/Double back/Somebody body getting mummy wrapped”

Santana has been prepping fans for his mixtape, The Get Back. Dave East is preparing the follow-up to his 2016, Kairi Chanel project with his major label debut album, which Nas will be the executive producer for.

22-year-old rapper, Bobby Shmurda, has accepted a plea deal alongside his co-defendants Chad “Rowdy Rebel” Marshall and Nicholas McCoy from the New York Supreme Court on Friday September 9th.  Shmurda, born as Ackquille Pollard, plead guilty to murder conspiracy as well as several drug and weapon possession charges in connection with gangs. He will serve a seven year sentence and five years of probation. An additional defendant, Santino Boderick, was facing an additional charge of attempted assault, resulting in a minimum plea deal of 15 years. The deal was dependent on all four of the defendants accepting.

According to TMZ, who were present in the court hearing, overheard Shmurda’s lawyer insist for his client and the other two defendants to take to the plea deal because the jury will not be sympathetic and they were facing life in prison.

Since the night of their arrest in December 2014, the Brooklyn-born rapper has been in jail for 2 years. Under the plea deal, Shmurda will not be allowed to appeal but will receive credit for the time already served leaving five years left on his sentence. On a slightly lighter note, a new statement from his lawyer Alex Spiro, said “His sentence of 7 years, with credit for 2 years already served and good time credit will hopefully permit him to be home in approximately 3 1⁄2 years and resume his remarkable career. This plea also covers a separate Bronx Indictment.”

Shmurda, Marshall, and McCoy will be sentenced on October 19th.

Last year, Puff Daddy released his MMM album and one of the songs featured on the album was the hit “Money Ain’t a Problem.” After being remixed with a verse from the late Chinx Drugs, Bobby Shmurda & Rowdy Rebel decided to give their rendition of the song “Shmoney Ain’t a Problem.”

As we know Bobby & Rowdy are awaiting trial in prison– which is set to begin in September from their December 17 arrest– where him and multiple GS9 members are facing felony charges. The charges they are facing range from conspiracy to murder to reckless endangerment.

With all of the adversity these young men are facing they’re still able to push that to the side and put out new music.

GS9 member, Rashid “Rasha” Derissant, was given a prison sentence of 98 1/3 years to life yesterday and this is not great news for what might come for Bobby Shmurda.

The office of New York City’s Special Narcotics Prosecutor, Bridget G. Brennan, released a press release and it states the following:

“his role in gang warfare that extended from New York City to Miami, and involved murder and multiple attempted murders between January 2013 and October 2014.”

“the sentence imposed today reflects the terror that the defendant’s crimes instilled in his own community, and wherever else he engaged in wanton violence to settle scores. It also underscored the value of the lives lost and tragically damaged.”

Rasha was found guilty of murder, attempted murder, and conspiracy alongside GS9 associate, A-Rod. Both men were involved in the murder of a rival gang member. Rasha was found guilty of being the shooter.

Shmurda is currently awaiting trial, which was postponed a second time, and will start in September. According to Complex, Bobby Shmurda is suing the NYPD over claims of false arrest. We shall see how his trial plays put now that Rasha has been given such a hefty sentence.
