The punk rock band took to social media on Wednesday (April 27), to showcase their official album artwork.

Blink-182 has been out of the spotlight for quite a while now. However, that doesn’t mean that they haven’t been recording some awesome music in the studio. The trio which consists of Mark Hoppus (vocalist), Travis Barker (drummer) and new group member Matt Skiba (vocalist), who replaces founding guitarist Tom DeLonge. That is to say fans have been questioning DeLonge’s decision for quitting. Some speculate that the reason for him bailing out of the band was due to boredom. To put it differently, he wanted to venture into other projects aside from music. It’s important to realize that the band will continue to rock out with or without him. Moving along, the artwork is animated and on the dark side of the spectrum. The image displays a skeleton man behind the wheel, and a woman riding shotgun displaying the band’s logo tatted on her arm. An obvious homage to the band.

Not to mention, the album title might seem like a no-brainer, but there was a lot of scrambling going on. Many ideas for the title were tossed around by the band members. Barker said the upcoming album was almost called ‘No Future’ or ‘Nude Erection.’ Hoppus also dropped his two cents into the bucket and suggested the title “OBGYN-Kenobi.” It’s obvious that these guys haven’t lost their youthfully twisted sense of humor! Talk about calculated timing – the album will be released on the 182nd day of the year. Check out the tracklist for the jaw-dropping ‘California‘ album below.

Where Eagles Dare caught up with born-again photographer Eriberto Oriol for this interview, where he talks—amongst other things—about his using his art as a tool for social awareness, his fifteen-year departure from photography and his son, Estevan getting him back into the picture game. When we interviewed Estevan for our second issue (his photo of 50 Cent graces our cover), he shared that his dad was the one who gave him his first camera and the directive to start taking photos. Now, Eriberto cites Estevan (photo’d above with members of blink-182 by Eriberto on the set of the group’s “Down” video, which Estevan directed) as one of his influences, which makes us feel soft and fuzzy on the inside.

An excerpt:

I never dreamed of or pushed Estevan into becoming a photographer. Just before he became road manager for House of Pain and later Cypress Hill, my fourth and present wife por vida, Angelica and I saw that he had an eye for photography. He was experiencing some real emotional trips with a couple of girlfriends and with this crazy veteran whom he lived in Hollywood with. The veteran was constantly threating him and his friends with their lives to the point where Estevan had to take necessary steps to get him off his back. Since these were such emotional times for him, along with hustling for work and money, all of these experiences began to appear in Polaroid images and he was then experimenting with all of this at the time. They were so engaging that my wife and I decided to give him a camera and I suggested for him to document his experiences with House of Pain and his association with Cypress Hill. The rest is history…
