Boston rap duo Blak Madeen return today to drop some jewels and kick down the “Industry Doors” on their latest single, a head-nodding slapper featuring Cali-rap stalwart, West Coast Kam.

The standalone single bursts out of the gate with a blistering verse from Al-J, one half of the duo who holds nothing back with tongue-twisting rhymes and impressive breath control. He then passes the mic to his partner-in-rhyme, Yusuf Abdul-Mateen, who kicks knowledge beyond the perceived underground-rap topics of “sports and comic books.”

Blak Madeen are joined by living rap legend West Coast Kam, who sounds as confident as ever, with his clever wordplay and slick boasts. And on the musical side, they teamed with frequent collaborator Sicknature (of Snowgoons) to supply the hard hitting Boom bap instrumental, which slaps a bit harder thanks to the cuts from DJ Slipwax.

“Industry Doors” represents another strong showing from one of Hip-Hop’s most consistent acts, who last year cemented their status in the game with their well received LP, Supreme Aftermath.

Boston rap duo Blak Madeen use their sharp flows, knowledge, and attention-commanding stage presence to bring the Supreme Aftermath banger “Main Attraction” to life in their stylish new video.

The video is directed by Xander Z. Hayes, whose previous work include Reks’ “Hands Up (Wink Wink)” and Taj Amir & Kid Lodi’s “The Underdog Story.” And with “Main Attraction,” which is produced by Snowgoons’ Sicknature, Hayes clearly found inspiration in the powerful rhymes brought forth by Blak Madeen’s Al-J and Yusuf Abdul-Mateen.

The director’s vision becomes clear as the primarily black-and-white visuals become interspersed with images that complement the duo’s rhymes. This includes everything from footage of political rallies, to the cover of a classic Divine Styler record, to a quick shot of Donald Trump surrounded by fire and brimstone. It’s all done subtly and with attention to detail, and it’ll leave you wanting to watch “Main Attraction” again to make sure you caught everything.

Boston-repping rap duo, Blak Madeen, wants you to remember the above quote when you’re listening to their passionate, thoughtful, and altogether-ill new album, Supreme Aftermath. Yes, the 14-track LP tackles issues that hit close to home for these two proud Muslim men, who use their words to address the growth of Islamophobia and misinformation spread by politicians and the news media. This is nothing new to Boston’s venomous duo Blak Madeen – who dropped off the second release, “Guerrilla Soliders” from their forthcoming Supreme Aftermath LP. The song features Planet Asia on the introduction verse, with his usual wizard-like braggadocio and signature left coast sound. The production credit is given to The Arcitype, offering a brutal hospital trip. Get your insurance cards out.

If you’re just now hearing about Blak Madeen, it’s okay – we will let you slide this time. Consider taking a look at Islamic hatred in our country for a moment, and how we may not hear enough about the issue on this side of the fence. This is one of many reasons to explore their music. They fearlessly, and openly, discuss issues of this type, with pride and chins up.
