As the time gets closer and closer to the release of J Dilla‘s newest album, fans are growing anxious and more artists are paying homage to the late producer/rapper to pass the time. To add to the recent tributes to J Dilla, Slum Village, Black Milk, Guilty Simpson and Phat Kat have teamed up for The Kings Court Tour. The tour will be will be celebrating the life and music of J Dilla and the influence he left behind on music.

The Kings Court tour will be making a pit stop in NYC on April 19th at the Highline Ballroom and RESPECT. Mag has teamed up with Move Forward Music to a lucky fan a pair of tickets to hit up the show!

Black Milk announces the dates for his Play Like Hell spring USA tour with his live band Nat Turner. The tour includes 16 dates (3 are festival dates) throughout the South and West Coast. Dates for East Coast, Midwest, Canada, and Europe TBA.

Black Milk will be showing off his beat-making skills on various dates. Lyrics Brown, Fashawn and Yasiin Bey will be present on select dates as well.

“Meanwhile off Mack“ is the debut single from JR & PH7 X Chuuwee’s collaborative full length release, The South Sac Mack, which is set to drop early 2015, via Below System Records. JR & PH7 are a production duo from Germany who have worked with some of your favorite Hip-Hop artists, including Skyzoo, Sean Price, Black Milk, Torae, Phonte, and Kev Brown to name a few. The pair offers a breath of fresh air as far as hope in real Hip-Hop is concerned, and their work is beyond worthy of checking out if you are unfamiliar.

Producer extraordinaire Jake One showcases his talent in his latest installment of his “Behind the Beat” series. For this episode, he breaks down how he created “3 Kings”; the collaboration track with Rick Ross, Dr. Dre and Jay Z. He talks about how he drew his inspiration for the track from Drake‘s “Lord Knows” produced by Just Blaze, and how the song came to life with the help of a karaoke machine and percussion courtesy of Black Milk. Black Milk’s If There’s a Hell Below gets a new single today, to follow up “What It’s Worth.” “Detroit’s New Dance Show” is an ode to the city’s dance show which ran back in 1988. The song itself has a funky, underground night club vibe to it and is a pretty far cry from what we’re used to hearing from Black Milk. Check it out below.

He has been rather quiet since the release of his Glitches In The Break EP, but hopefully this will be the beginning of much more to come.
