Doley Bernays Releases New Heart Felt EP, “Hard Raising Black Boys”

2020 has been such an awakening year for the black community. With the recent unfortunate events it has become more of a challenge to raise our black men. Doley Bernays shares his personal experience in new three pack titled, “Hard Raising Black Boys.”

In the first record, “Deaths Going Viral” Bernay’s speaks about risking his freedom just to survive. The struggle of knowing that the police can take his life due to the color of his skin or by people around him with the same skin color.

“America might kill me as far as I know/ I’ve been risking freedom for survival/ Gotta keep a gun where I go/ Not tryna get killed by the cops or killed by my ops”

The next track, speaks for itself, “Hard Raising Black Boys.” It is a obstacle many black parents must overcome. Raising a black son of his own has opened his eyes to our harsh reality. Trying to teach him certain experiences that only life can show you. Bernays also relates to how difficult it is to witness black mothers continuously bury their children.

“I see a black momma that’s crying/ I hear sirens, black Boys are dying/ I see a black mother that’s crying I feel like crying but ima hold it in/ two weeks later another mom on the news here we go again”

“So Far From Home” closes out the pack with a soulful vibe. The Bronx emcee explains how he can be so close to home but yet feel so far way. He explains wanting the best for his son so he doesn’t make the mistakes he made.

“Don’t want him in the trap house serving addicts like his daddy/ I don’t really want for my junior/ my momma really ain’t want that for me but it still grabbed me……I’m tryna raise a King, not a savage. “

During tough times, many rely on Bernay’s music to comfort them. It gives them hope and some understanding to what’s going on around them. Doley let his heart bleed through the entire project. His music is like a time machine that carries your emotions. You become attached to the lyrics the more you listen. He displays more layers of his personality to explain why it is so hard to raise black men.

Bon Dior Releases New Track, “Can’t Leave It Alone”

Bon Dior was born and raised in the East New York, Brooklyn, in Cypress Hill projects. He attended Chelsea High school in lower Manhattan. After graduating he attended LaGuardia Community College, where he expelled in his sophomore year. This pushed him into the street life. At a young age he began to acknowledge his passion for music. At 17, he started writing and recording his own songs. Dior utilizes his life story as a source to inspire his music. He enjoys making authentic music that we all can relate to. His most recent release, “Can’t Leave It Alone” was produced by Turbo. As the beat drops you can feel the dope vibe. Throughout the record we can see how much a multitalented creative he is.

Preston Waters Shows His Inspiration with New EP, “Love Waters 2”

Upcoming creative Preston Waters, is an American Hip Hop artist from Flatbush, Brooklyn. At an early age he learned how to build computers from scratch with his father. This knowledge and innovative trait would be the shape of his music career.

In 2011, he coined the phrase “TrapSafely” and started a unique movement. Shortly after he began remixing songs by himself on a laptop and studied more about the real art of music. 2014, he released the “No Face No Case” project on Datpiff.com. This made the ground work for his next project: “The Lit Tape”. Preston’s success came when he shared his second project, Watch No Face The Lit Tape, and with the media publicity and support from the Hip Hop community.

His current project displays his enticing personality and tells different stories. Each song tell displays a certain viewpoint from his life story. Preston utilizes music a tool to express himself and innovate the culture. The first track, “Kompa Nights,” produced by Muddigold, sets the tone of what is to be expected throughout the project. On the tape he collaborated with other dope producers, Judah Hex and Johnny Ice. He also discussed the creative process for this;

“This project was inspired by life and situations I’ve encountered at some point in my life . Some parts of growing and maturing as a man, is that we go through things and we either learn from it or live in it..Love was the biggest inspiration for this because love isn’t always peachy has its bumps and bruises. I want to encourage the listeners to live in their absolute truth and let them know it’s okay to be vulnerable. We go through certain things to teach us values and morals and well always be tasted.”

The multi-talented artist from Flatbush, Brooklyn formally known as “Mitchleading” who now goes by the name “Mitch” drops his super soulful project, “Freedom Writer.” From a early age, Mitch had a passion for the art of music. He enjoys authentic music that people can really relate to. He uses music as a outlet to connect his thoughts to his reality, to express and combine his love for literature and good music all in one. Throughout this tape you can feel the timeless vibe he created. He strives to make records that is transparent to his real life. The name Mitch, has a lot of substantial meanings to it. It stands for ” Music is the concern here.” His family, daughter, and supporters are his main sources of inspiration that influenced this project. Mitch shows how diverse he can be throughout this tape, he effortlessly delivers on every track and he has the ability to flow on any kind of beat as long as he is feeling it. He uses his many talents to his advantage and you can hear through his lyrics the unique artist he is.

Sleepy Hallow and Sheff G sat down with Sicarah, to discuss their music journey and what keeps them motivated to make authentic music. Sheff G spoke about his first encounter with receiving a lot of positive feedback from his supporters. He says he used it to keep him inspired to perfect his craft and create timeless music. Sleepy Hallow break downs how he came up with his name. They use their unique way to deliver lyrics that the people love and enjoy. They have a unique sound that forces them remain consistent because they stand out from many other artist.

Their creative process for visuals is inspired by many different factors like what the fans want and what kind of vibe they can create. The continuously reach new pinnacles by supporting each other and using their music as an outlet to innovative the culture. For 2020, we can expect more new music and visuals.

J57 dropped off his latest record “Soarin’ Like Jordan” featuring Audible Doctor and Archie Bang. For those who’ve been residing under a rock, J57 hails from the acclaimed underground collective Brown Bag Allstars as well as Audible Doctor. Both are predominately known for their production over the years, but they never half step or come up short on the mic. Revisit J57’s “Wax Aesthetic“ for your reassurance, and Audible Doctor’s “Can’t Keep The People Waiting.“

The two Brown Bag veterans brought along Brooklyn’s promising Archie Bang to blow off some steam, opening up the record with some heavy content. Don’t let the playful title fool you here; the three guns mean business and deliver brutal honesty over J57’s stern, sample-free soundscape. Yeah, we said sample-free.
