Bizzy Crook has dropped the visual for “John Geiger,” a hard track inspired by the sneaker designer. With that in mind, it’s no surprise that the visual is sneaker-filled and features a cameo from John Geiger himself. Crook’s mixtape Nothing Came From Everything is set to drop in September. Check out the new clip below in the meantime.

Detroit’s Early Mac teams up with Bizzy Crook and Trae Tha Truth for a lyrical homage to money’s allure with “Big Bank.” The expression “big bank takes little bank” (also the record’s chorus) parallels symbolism between the song’s overt concept and what’s created when two up and coming spitters link with a Houston legend. The continuously rapid drum kicks offer simplistic production for Mac and friends, positioning the spotlight on the rhymes themselves. Earlly Mac came out of the gate with fire and his buzz only seems to be heating up.

Kid Ink‘s “My Own Lane” tour came to Irving Plaza Sunday night. After opening sets by King Los and Bizzy Crook, Kid Ink rocked the stage with just a mic, one hype man and his DJ. He ran through songs from his recently dropped My Own Lane, and a slew of mixtape cuts that were just as popular with the crowd.

The Reebok and Skype sponsored performance was packed. Kid Ink reminded the crowd it was 4/20 before rhyming over “Ms. Jane.” Likewise, joints and blunts of all sizes went instantly into the air for “Stank In My Blunt.” Videos of 1920s-era mob scenes appeared on the projector behind him when “Bossin’ Up” came on. The crowd loudly approved when ASAP Ferg entered to rap his feature. After shouting out the man of the hour, Ferg dove headfirst into “Work,” and then “Shabba.”

The show was very interactive. Kid Ink told the crowd to put their tattoos in the air for “Tattoos On My Finger,” put lighters in the air for “Hell & Back” and take notice of all the good-looking ladies in the crowd as the sound of “Bad Ass” filled the room. He even hit a blunt from one of the concert-goers at the front of the stage. When “Time of Your Life” came on, DJ Tech cut the sound and the crowd scream the title words in unison during each chorus.

A snippet of “On Top Of the World” was a quick “test of the energy in the room.” Kid Ink told the crowd that if they wanted him to join them on the floor for the song, they needed to get even louder. He playfully pitted one side of the audience against the other. On “Main Bitch” he swatted a random condom balloon back into the crowd, never missing a beat. The fans rocked to the final song, “Loyal,” as Kid Ink signed hats and cell phone covers before exiting the stage.

Bizzy Crook is no stranger to this experience. On “Amnesia” he contrasts his doubters’ amnesia with his inability to forget their every word. This isn’t a particularly new story in rap, but Bizzy changes gears by telling it in a way that isn’t overly boastful or concerned with vengeance. Instead of gleefully saying, “Look at me now!” he calmly asks, “How could you forget why you didn’t look before?” Bizzy wants accountability, not revenge. He wants to understand how people’s perception of him can alter so drastically when he feels so unchanged. Watch “Amnesia” below.  Bizzy Crook knows how to tell a story.

There are plenty of Kanye worshipers out there – he is a god after all – but who would have expected a 2013 version of Eminem‘s “Stan?” Rapping over a loop from “Diamonds From Sierra Leone,” Bizzy Crook, a young emcee from Miami, declares that he will have “no rest until [he] gets an email from Mr. West.” It’s an interesting take on “Stan,” especially since it comes from an actual Stan, but it’s still a bit creepy. The song ends with some of Kanye‘s signature screams; maybe Bizzy knows how Kanye would react. Bizzy‘s  ’84 is coming out soon. Check out the ode to Mr. West below.
