Los Angeles rising star Ye Ali, is using his authentic sound to influence the music business in a major way. Having recently produced for Chris Brown and Eric Bellinger, his talent as a producer has propelled him into a fruitful career as a recording artist.

Coming off of his Private Suite 2 release, Ali is a riding out a musical wave like never before. He is bringing back that sexy, 90’s R&B, that will serve as the summer soundtrack for music lovers worldwide.

I caught up with this hot shot for a candid interview surrounding his current success. He candidly discussed being a recoding artist, putting out new material and working with some of music’s biggest acts to date.

RESPECT: How influential has 90’s r&b music been on your own sound?

YE ALI: Im a big fan of 90s R&B groups so they definitely influence my sound a lot. I didn’t really get into R&B until I became a musician so I always find new groups that I never heard of on line.

RESPECT: What inspired the releases of your private suite 2 project?

YE ALI: I just felt like putting out a body of work to add to my collection. PS1 was released out of nowhere so I thought it was only right to have a similar release for the follow up. I like bodies of work more than singles because it tells a story and is a bit more personal to the fan. I was in a zone for a week and created the majority of the project in that week.

RESPECT: How has the response been from fans since its release?

YE ALI: It’s been great, only complaint was that the songs were too short. That was my plan the whole time though. I wanted to make the fans kind of mad the song wasn’t longer just to make it a conversation point.

RESPECT: What is it like working with Chris Brown, and what song(s) on his
Indigo album did you produce?

YE ALI: It is cool to work with anyone who is a legend in the game. So from that perspective I was grateful. I only co wrote on “Emerald” featuring Juicy J and Juvenile. I started this song in November of 2018 with a songwriter name Felli Ferraro.

I think that is how you spell it. She is amazing so shoutout to her because she lead the way and I followed her lead. Chris made it easy because he told us the concept/title to the song so that gave us parameters to work.

RESPECT: How did your relationship with Eric Bellinger develop?

YE ALI: We met through my friend Milan who was a photographer and videographer for Eric for a time in 2014-15. I met Eric on set with Fetty Wap for their song “Valet” I believe. Few years later I meet Eric in the studio and we do “Big Body Benz”. Just some full circle life shit basically.

RESPECT: What is up next for you?

YE ALI: Traphousejodeci 2 executive produced by Bizness Boi is coming out in the Fall.

Bizness Boi is hot in the game for his producing skills. Many people look up to the young cat as motivation that you can do anything you can put your mind to. His talent is out of this world and can only go up from here! His creativity is what sparks producers today. It’s not all about making beats, it’s about making it your passion. His beats remind me of a sensual vibe in where I close my eyes and focus on the tracks and vibe out. The sounds he creates are very authentic and dope!

The dynamic duo, himself and Ye Ali, is how I met him and discovered Ye Ali and fell in love with them both. The duo can’t be stopped, and this upcoming tape that Bizness Boi is releasing is something that we have all been waiting for. His creativity inspires me to never give up on your dreams, even if it takes time and motivation!

Behind an amazing artist and their music is a phenomenal team. It takes talent to put together a nice beat, good lyrics or content and nice flow.  Producer, Andre “Bizness Boi” Robertson is an incredible asset to have for a hit song!

The 28-year-old, Little Rock, Arkansas bred began producing in 2001. In 2006, Bizness Boi was making beats with a digital audio workstation, “I started making beats on FL Studio. My bro Prep Bijan Hughes loaded me with Drums & Sounds and the rest is history.”

Biz has many different aspects that allow him to bring his ideas to life, starting with having many sounds. “I have thousands and thousands of sounds. I’ll sit at my desk and scroll through different ones until that “one” sound catches my attention. I usually start my beats off with melodies and/or chords. Then I start to build the drums and percussion around it,” says Robertson. He also has a love for mixing genres, how artist and producers can combine genres and sounds, creating a master piece.

As a producer, Robertson helps create the music we love and then getting the pleasure to enjoy something he played a major part in. ” It’s crazy creating records and then watch it spread all over the world. I put my heart and soul into my music because it allows me to change people’s lives and perspective on life itself.” He’s had people tell him what an inspiration he is and gave them a push to achieve their dreams no matter the circumstances.

These past couple of weeks, the smooth R&B vocalist, PartyNextDoor has been dropping some major hits for his fans. Guess who is one of the men behind the hits? Mr. Bizness Boi, himself! He’s behind the production of “Don’t Know How,” Don’t Do it For You Know More and “Cuffed Up” ft. Quavo. They were able to put the records together a week or so before they dropped, now that’s what you call work.

Bizness Boi has also worked with Ye Ali, Charlie $tardom, Eric Bellinger, Jake N Papa, Daniel Church and many more, he considers them all the future of music. He also discusses who he’d love to work with in the future, “I have this crazy record that I see Jay Z & Adele on that I produced. My sis INK wrote to it and it’s a big record! I also want to work with Kanye West, Usher, Justin Bieber, & Drake,” Hey, Jay and Adele, contact the Biz!

One thing that makes Biz feel as if he stands out from others is his forever-like sound, ” I’m aiming at being timeless and not being the “In The Now” producer. I have a GREAT team around me that helps my visions come to life! I have guitarist, keyboardist, Saxophone player, great writers and so on. Even tho there’s a lot of technology out here, I’m still focused on an organic sound full of melodies, different rhythms and new percussion.”

Bizness Boi is working on a production tape with a few surprises and dope artist. He just finished Ye Ali’s ‘TRAPHOUSEJODECI‘ album that will be dropping soon. His artist, Charlie $tardom will be releasing in September 2016, “he’s gonna change the world with his music,” says Robertson.

There have been sometimes the young producer doubted himself, but he has a circle of support surrounding him,  “I know to really be successful and win in life, you have to be consistent and persistent. My family and friends inspire me to be great too. It’s bigger than just me.”

He moves forward in life and motivated by a quote from our President, Barack Obama, “Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for. We are the change that we seek.”

Artists wouldn’t have a complete piece of art without the important people who aren’t always in the spotlight. We must always remember, it takes a team and hardwork to create something unforgettable and timeless. Music is art that can put us into multiple feelings from good to bad with just one song, album or mixtape. To create all these feelings it takes content and good producing.
