Marcus Russell, famously known as BigMoney Markie is an American musical artist and songwriter from Louisville, Kentucky. Markie is building steam for his upcoming project, TRAPION with interscope records. Markie makes vulnerable and lit music. “If you can’t grind to it, don’t ride to it”, says Markie.

RESPECT.: Who are your biggest influences in life?
BigMoney Markie: My Pawpaw! Taught to stand on principles! My son taught me responsibility!

RESPECT.: Who’s your favorite artist?BigMoney Markie: Really, I love me, but Meek Mill has a big influence on me in my grind life.

RESPECT.: What inspired you to do music?BigMoney Markie: Coming from where I come from, the only way I knew was selling drugs. I didn’t want be like the rest of these people with no legal income so when I turned 18 I took my hobby, which was music, more seriously and then it took me more seriously.

RESPECT.: What is something you like to do besides making music?
BigMoney Markie: I love to play basketball. I feel like if I took it more seriously I could’ve been the NBA.

RESPECT.: Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
BigMoney Markie: An Icon in the music industry. I’ll know when I finally made it when I see how many other people I made millionaires.

RESPECT.: Who’s your celebrity crush?

BigMoney Markie: I feel like the baddest female in the game is Doja Cat, but I’m not really into industry females. I’m looking for something genuine. I’m big on energy.
RESPECT.: If you were a car what kinda car would you be ?

BigMoney Markie: A demon challenger or Tesla X model.
RESPECT.: Where’s your favorite place to eat in Louisville?

BigMoney Markie: I’ve lived in Louisville so long that nothing really excites me anymore. My favorite restaurant is catch LA. They show me love whenever I come.
RESPECT.: Netflix & chill or the club?

BigMoney Markie: Netflix and chill! That’s a vibe I know leads to fun.
RESPECT.:What’s the biggest purchase you’ve ever made?

BigMoney Markie: It was 180k Benz, AMG GLE 63 and I wrecked it two weeks after I got it.
RESPECT.: What’s something that’s misunderstood about you?

BigMoney Markie: I feel like my persona comes off as aggressive so people look at me like a thug but it’s a Scorpio vibe. Im just big on respect. I’m really a genuine, loving, trustworthy rich ass spoiled kid.
RESPECT.: Do you look at yourself as a rapper?

BigMoney Markie: No! I am an artist I just talk my shit but most importantly I’m a father and a 20 year with a lot of responsibilities on his shoulders I don’t rap I tell my life what I’ve seen what’s I’ve experienced how I’ve felt.
