This week, Simz and Bibi join forces for the laid-back, melodic cut “Customz,” which comes accompanied by a message (via Soundcloud):

Bibi Bourelly is no stranger to the 20-something struggle in her new video for her hit single “Ballin” that just a dropped a week ago. At just 22 years old, Bibi has hit 3 million plays on Spotify for this single and she is just getting started. You may think that “Ballin” could be her big break but the artist has already hit that point in her career after writing “B*tch Better Have My Money” for Rihanna.

Bourelly gets real in the visual that was shot on her own budget with friends, as she writes in the Youtube description “I shot a video with my friends with my own budget, independently and I’m really happy I made that decision cuz I feel like it reflects me:)”.

Bibi loses her job, gets a notice that her rent is past due, sells artwork on the NY streets, and even plays her music in the subway for extra cash. Bourelly knows what it’s like to hustle and her lyrics tie hand-in-hand with the visual to show that “ballin” doesn’t mean you have to be wealthy… Bibi’s version of “ballin” is when you can buy as many Takis and Ramen Noodles at the corner store as you want and not have to stress about paying your rent.

In time for Black History Month, the R&B vet unleashed a new visual for “Chains” on Tuesday (Feb. 2). The black-and-white presentation — directed by Film The Future — finds the singer riding in the back of a cop car and eventually walking into his own funeral. It’s the most compelling example of social commentary that we’ve ever seen or heard from Usher, and we certainly wouldn’t mind more of it.

Last October, Usher released an interactive video on Tidal for his politically charged record “Chains” featuring Nas and Bibi Bourelly, using images of police brutality victims like Trayvon Martin, Sean Bell and Eric Garner.
