Kyrie Irving requested a trade from the Cleveland Cavaliers in July. As a result, the Cavs struck on a deal with the Boston Celtics that shipped Irving to the Celtics in exchange for Isaiah Thomas, Jae Crowder, Ante Zizic and the Brooklyn Nets’ 2018 first round pick.

I checked in with Ben Troupe and B.J. Bennett of ESPNCoastal’s “3 and Out” out in Brunswick, Georgia and broke down the trade.

While on the show I informed the crew that while many are discussing a potential LeBron James Cleveland Cavaliers exit, to greener pastures in Los Angeles with Lonzo Ball, Brook Lopez and Magic Johnson; don’t sleep on the possibility of a LeBron return to south Florida with the Miami Heat.

Ben Troupe is football. Drafted by the Tennessee Titans in the 2004 NFL Draft, the tight end played for the Titans as well as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Oakland Raiders.

In 57 NFL games, Troupe  had 7 touchdowns on 106 receptions for 1,056 yards.

Dude Had Hops In College Too! 

While at the University of Florida, Troupe was an All-American and an All-SEC first team selection in 2003. He also won a SEC Championship with the Gators in 2000.

Growing a budding radio and television career post retirement, Troupe is a regular contributor to Brunswick, Georgia’s ESPN Radio 103.7 FM – 790 AM’s “Afternoon Drive.”

I was a recent guest on one of his shows. While on it, it was awesome to talk about paying it forward by mentoring talent and speaking to young people throughout the NYC and Tri-State area.
