L.A. producer Beatnick Dee drops a colorful visual for “Ketchup & Mustard.” Off his producer album “Creative Medicine,” Dee grabs lyrical help from Cashus King as the two create an homage to the West Coast. K&M (Dir. by Ryan Calavano) is reminiscent of an early 90’s west, capturing the true essence of the region and pushing it forward, while still recognizing it’s long standing impact in Hip-Hop culture. This visual strips away gimmicks and focuses directly on the record’s message. It’s truly “an anthem for the gangsters and the hustlers.”

LA transplant producer Beatnick Dee recently released his lucid track, “Luxurious Rain.” Gearing up for the release of his upcoming album Creative Medicine, the second single features rapper Pheo lacing the beat with his lyrics. One of many collaborations on the new project, the UK native joined forces with such artists as Thes One (People Under The Stairs), Denitia & Sene, Cashus King (fka Co$$), Big Twins of Infamous Mobb, and more.

California producer Beatnick Dee recruits Saheed, Madkem, and Jered Sanders for “Gone.” Hip-hop (all music for that matter) is in a transient time of forgotten art. Amidst the consistent influx of new music, it’s nice to take time out and find solace in records like “Gone.” The album’s essence is deeply rooted in the origins of hip-hop culture, pure wordplay that instantly grabs your attention. Razor sharp verses from Saheed and Madkem, accompanied by Jered Sanders’ blissfully soulful hook, compliments Dee’s organically rich production to a T.

When asked about the creation of this record, Beatnick Dee had this to say: “I put together this posse cut with three young talented artists a few years ago. I made the beat in 2011 with a soulful Spanish sample, added some keys, harp, and synth bass. I had worked with my dude Madkem on his album, and we’d met up in New York around that time. He had the idea of putting Jered on it for a hook, then I reached out to Saheed for the final verse. The song has an uplifting, triumphant vibe to it, based around being sure of yourself and making the most of opportunities, wherever they may take you.”

“Gone” is a vivid glimpse into the care and effort Dee puts into his craft, hopefully the upcoming album will follow suit.
