In typical artist fashion, however, he is channeling his issues into music. <strong>Ricky</strong> has released four new songs, the first of which details a failed relationship with a girl named Ashley. Here&#8217;s how he explained it on his Twitter:</p>
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>im leaking this song i wrote for ashley, i sent it to her, she doesnt love me back obviously. i still love her the songs called 10yrsafter</p>
<p>— RICKY HIL (@RickyHil) <a href="https://twitter.com/RickyHil/statuses/363833063546961920">August 4, 2013</a></p></blockquote>
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>i wrote that song for ashley moore&#8230;. she dont love me&#8230; yall can have the song&#8230; i love her</p>
<p>— RICKY HIL (@RickyHil) <a href="https://twitter.com/RickyHil/statuses/363834830691119104">August 4, 2013</a></p></blockquote>

<p>The other three records are just as dark. You can download them all below. <em><strong>Slickville 2</strong></em> is apparently still on schedule to drop soon.</p>

<p><strong><a href="http://www.el-pez.com">El Pez</a> </strong>started painting in the outskirts of<strong> Barcelona </strong>in 1999.<strong> </strong>The Spanish native shifted from using his name as a signature to using the figure of a smiling fish, leading to the emergence of his current moniker, <strong>El Pez </strong>(&#8220;The Fish&#8221; en Español). Soon after <strong>El Pez </strong>had invaded the streets of Barcelona, he began to travel through European cities and his vibrant and joyful style was easily recognizable, and rising in prominence thanks to its uniqueness, as well as the artist&#8217;s perseverance and hard work. The original smiling fish has since given way to the wide family of jolly characters seen below.</p>
<p><a href="http://respect-mag.com/street-art-infectious-smiles-from-pez/oslo-wall2/" rel="attachment wp-att-59513"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" data-attachment-id="59513" data-permalink="https://respect-mag.com/2013/04/street-art-infectious-smiles-from-pez/oslo-wall2/" data-orig-file="https://i0.wp.com/respect-mag.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/Oslo-wall2.jpg?fit=900%2C600&amp;ssl=1" data-orig-size="900,600" data-comments-opened="1" data-image-meta="{&quot;aperture&quot;:&quot;0&quot;,&quot;credit&quot;:&quot;&quot;,&quot;camera&quot;:&quot;&quot;,&quot;caption&quot;:&quot;&quot;,&quot;created_timestamp&quot;:&quot;0&quot;,&quot;copyright&quot;:&quot;&quot;,&quot;focal_length&quot;:&quot;0&quot;,&quot;iso&quot;:&quot;0&quot;,&quot;shutter_speed&quot;:&quot;0&quot;,&quot;title&quot;:&quot;&quot;}" data-image-title="PEZ" data-image-description="" data-image-caption="" data-medium-file="https://i0.wp.com/respect-mag.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/Oslo-wall2.jpg?fit=900%2C600&amp;ssl=1" data-large-file="https://i0.wp.com/respect-mag.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/Oslo-wall2.jpg?fit=640%2C426&amp;ssl=1" class="size-full wp-image-59513 aligncenter" alt="PEZ" src="https://i0.wp.com/respect-mag.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/Oslo-wall2.jpg?resize=846%2C564" width="846" height="564" data-recalc-dims="1" /></a></p>
<p><strong>El Pez</strong>, as his style indicates, is a feel-good artist, unburdened by socio-political agendas. &#8220;I don&#8217;t paint to express [anything]&#8230;I paint for enjoyment.&#8221; His smiling fish is meant to &#8220;spread happiness and good vibrations to the people in the streets.&#8221; <strong>El Pez </strong> is not influenced by other street artist, he draws his inspiration directly from the world around him. He lives in his own artistic universe, much like a child, which might be why his work emanates such a strong, youthful sense. In fact, he dislikes &#8220;people who export styles from others countries and believe is original.&#8221; (Read more <a href="http://bcnstyle.ekosystem.org/pez-interview/"><strong>here</strong></a>).</p>

<p>If you pay better attention to his work you notice that his outdoor murals of living characters seem uncertain and fearful, whereas his dead-like characters are associated to nature, freedom and life.</p>
<p>Here are some of his &#8220;indoor&#8221; works:</p>

<p><strong>Stinkfish</strong> ended his European tour with a final mural in Barcelona, Spain. At the <strong>&#8220;Playa de La Barceloneta,&#8221;</strong> the Colombian artist painted a funky piece right on the water. Now, the muralist is set to fly back to South America, but I&#8217;m sure we&#8217;ll see more of him soon.</p>
