It’s hard to believe that it’s been 8 years since the Obama girls, Sasha and Malia, entered the White House to live at the tender ages of 7 and 10. Growing up before our very eyes, it was almost like they were our little sisters too. On Tuesday, President Barack Obama gave his final speech as president, as next week he’ll be handing over the baton to President-Elect Donald Trump. It has been an emotional ride for the first family, as everyone has expressed their well wishes to them as they make their exit out. In their honor, B.E.T threw a night of celebration for the family as celebrities galore have poured out to them over the coming weeks giving thanks for their commitment and service to the country over the past 8 years. While all the talk has been geared toward Barack and Michelle; former daughters Jenna Bush Hager and Barbara Bush decided to pen a letter to the Obama girls as they leave the home they have grown to love and know over the years.

Per Time, the letter celebrated all the Obama sisters had experienced while they lived in the White House and the newfound freedom they’ll experience when they leave. In the letter, the girls expressed their feelings toward the sisters and gave some wisdom; encouragement and big sisterly advice for their years outside of the constant public eye. This would be the Bush sisters second letter to the Obama girls; they wrote one in 2009 when they took office and again in 2016 as they leave and embark on journeys of their own.
