It’s been a battle for South Central rapper Bale who is still in the process of recovery after surviving a horrible shooting in front of his house. Bale‘s miracle comeback after surviving 28 shots is nothing the doctors ever could have expected but Bale gives a huge credit to music.

Now, after earning great coverage throughout the blogosphere, for the single “Greater” and the visual for “Check,” this South Central rapper is now ready to release his highly anticipated project Hard Times Shaped Me (H.T.S.M.).

In celebration of the release, Bale will also be releasing his documentary 28 Shots that walks fans through the tragic night where Bale was shot 28 times from head to toe. The recovery would be miraculous as doctors removed a host of Bale‘s internal organs to salvage what was left in a last ditch effort to save him.

Now with West-Coast mainstay Krondon at his side in a joint label partnership, Bale has developed an unstoppable momentum that picking up in hoods across LA. From South Central to Inglewood people are taking note of this your rapper’s real lyrics in a time when pink hair, pills and face tattoos get all the attention.

The release of the project comes on the heels of Krondon’s premiere appearance and role as Tobias Whale in CW’s interpretation of the famed 1970’s DC Comic Black Lightning.

Peep the visual at the top of the post, and be sure to look out for more visuals from Hard Times Shaped Me (H.T.S.M.) soon.

For South Central native emcee Bale, every day is a blessing. You wouldn’t know it if you saw him, but less than a year ago Bale spent 29 days in the hospital after suffering 28 shots from head to toe on his birthday. Not only did that almost cost him his life, but that ended his chance of pursuing a scholarship in football at a D-1 school where he was enrolled.

Bale is lucky to be alive and he’s unquestionably a survivor with an unmatched will to live. But luck doesn’t just happen – you have to make luck happen. You have have right frame of mind to get through the hard times when you were at the wrong place at the wrong time and life dealt you a bad hand. Bale has a playbook for that triumphant road to recovery and he gives it to you in the rawest form on his project H.T.S.M (Hard. Times. Shaped. Me.)

“I’m from South Central, I grew up on Normandie, the oldest out five kids so naturally I feel like I’m a leader,” Bale explained. “I think Bale the rapper and Bale the person are the same. I try to be as transparent as possible in the music, so listeners know me as an artist and as a person. Great music always comes from a place of truth and to do anything well you have you know yourself. I find myself, finding myself through the music.”

Fans will be able to hear that struggle, passion and pain on his upcoming H.T.S.M. effort that in a sense documents Bale’s road to recovery both mentally and physically. Part of the process for Bale’s recovery involved linking with longtime West-Coast staple Krondon, a founding member of Hip-Hop super-group Strong Arm Steady and famed songwriter in Hip-Hop.

“I linked with Krondon like two months after I got out the hospital through the big homie B.Fin. To have a West Coast legend champion me is not only an honor but a blessing” Bale said. “If you ask me, I’d say he’s saving my life. He’s helping me get out a situation that almost tore my family apart and now helping me get in position to where I can change those circumstances.”

Listen to the track at the top of the post and feel free to let us know your thoughts.

Authenticity will always be the name of the game in Hip-Hop, even in the midst of more “fiction-based” artists (for lack of a better term). Enter new artist Bale, who hails from South Central, Los Angeles and follows other rappers from his area impacting the culture (ie. Jay Rock, Nipsey Hussle). What makes his story particularly special is that he almost didn’t make it to this point…last August, Bale — real name: Demonte Bell — was shot 28 times in front of his mother’s home on his 25th birthday. Thankfully, the non-gang affiliated emcee survived the shooting and — alongside his Undrafted L.A. movement and with co-signs from the likes of Krondon, Dom Kennedy, G-Perico and Maxo Kream — is still making strides toward greatness.

This leads us to his latest release: this week, Bale unveiled a new track titled “Blow Up,” which sees him reflecting on that fateful day (with references to 50 Cent, who also famously rebounded from his own shooting) while rapping about progressing forward:

Them times getting harder, we’re just tryna benefit
Been running all day, I been chasin’ Benjamins
I been playin’ 50 Cent, I been bumpin’ “Many Men”
‘Fore it all started, I knew I had to finish it
They ask me how I deal with it, s*** I gotta live with it
Everything seem different, the bullets I can still feel it
Working while I’m still healing
Hard to understand why this fake s*** is so appealing…

Check out “Blow Up” below…the track is said to appear on Bale’s forthcoming debut release, Hard Times Shaped Me (of which the official album trailer is also included).
