Stop the presses- the late great King of Rap, Notorious B.I.G. will be coming to stage a near you. ARHT Media announced Monday (April, 11) it has officially secured the rights to the late rapper’s likeness and intends to create a traveling “HumaGram” that will bring the performer back to the stage once again. The company will resurrect the famed rapper as a hologram.

What’s more, Holo-Biggie will move and act just like his fleshy predecessor. “We’ll use input from virtually anywhere so we’ll talk to people, we’ll obviously look through existing footage,” ARHT CEO Paul Duffy told Billboard. “We’ll meet with family members and just look to alternately capture the essence of Biggie. Then we’ll have their eyes on all the content and material that’s being built. Of course, nothing would be released until they felt comfortable and signed off on it.”

B.I.G’s resurrection is part of a growing trend in turning iconic performers into -holograms. ARHT confirms other holographic celebrities including Whitney Houston, Billie Holiday, Michael Jackson, Andy Kaufman and Redd Foxx.

The Los Angeles-based ARHT Media intends to tour the hologram for arena performances and media campaigns using patent-pending technology described as a “scalable, repeatable and transportable form of 3D without the use of special glasses,” which allows audiences to interact with the projections within retail displays, tradeshow booths, and during other live events.

“This project has been a long-time coming, and it is very special to me. Words can’t even capture how elated I am for the world to finally see my son again on stage and beyond,” B.I.G.’s mother, Voletta Wallace, said of the project via press release. “[His] impact and legacy will not only live through his past work, but also the new experiences which have been made possible through ARHT Media.”

New Mixtape: King Los – Zero Gravity II

Yesterday, Baltimate MC King Los dropped his icy new mixtape Zero Gravity II, which comes fresh off the announcement made on Sway in the Morning that he would be leaving Bad Boy Records. Los has an endless supply of bars, so Zero Gravity II will surely warrant a few listens just to process everything he manages to get out over 19 tracks. Look for Los to be making some big waves in 2014 as one of the brightest young MCs out there. Check out the tape below.

The countdown begins for the release of Bad Boy artist Los’s new mixtape, Becoming King. The project drops on April 25th, and now we get the visuals for the pivotal intro and title track. Directed by John Greene, the video takes Los back to his Baltimore roots. He shows off his city while spitting aggressively and showing of his skill set. It will definitely be interesting to see what Los can bring to his coming mixtape just a few short weeks from now. Check out the video below.

Machine Gun Kelly, professionally known as MGK, gives his listener a glimpse into his life story. He reflects on the hardships he had to face before he achieved his current level of success as a rapper. Hailing from Shaker Heights, a low-income poverty stricken environment in Columbus, Ohio, MGK has many similarities to former Bad Boy Records songstress Cheri Dennis, who also hails from the same city. What makes the two entertainers similar is how they can express themselves freely and gain die hard fans, while entertaining others and giving it their all. It’s MGK‘s realness that sets him apart from other rappers and brings out his star quality. Finally, you have his “I Just Don’t Give A…!” attitude, which is apparent on this ode to playa haters with one of the south’s biggest trap-stars Young Jeezy.

Bad Boy Records founder Sean “Diddy” Combs presented his record label’s recording artist MGK with his first gold plaque for the success of his Bad Boy/ Interscope Records debut single titled, “Wild Boy.” MGK received his gold plaque a year after the single’s release date and just days before the official release of his full length debut album titled, Lace Up. The Showtime at The Apollo alumni is the first Caucasian rapper to win The Apollo’s Amateur Night Show and is headed towards further success with the release of his debut album, available tomorrow.

Ready To Die by the late Notorious B.I.G. is one of the most critically acclaimed albums in hip-hop history. Part of the original album review that Source Magazine gave in 1994 states, “Overall, this package is complete: ridiculous beats, harmonizing honeys, ill sound effects, and familiar hooks …” The bulk of those “ridiculous beats” were produced by Osten “Easy Mo Bee” Harvey Jr. Prior to his career with Bad Boy Records Bee produced records for Big Daddy Kane, Wu-Tang Clan, and even the legendary trumpet player Miles Davis. Sean “Diddy” Combs, better known as Puff Daddy in the early 1990’s, eventually called on Bee and his heavy bass and jazz influenced sound for Bad Boy’s first album, Project: Funk da World by Craig Mack. Bee also collaborated with Tupac during the early years of his rap career. The song “Runnin’ From Tha Police” that features Tupac and B.I.G., later remixed by Eminem to make “Runnin‘,” was produced by Bee. Easy Mo Bee split with Bad Boy after B.I.G.’s Life After Death project claiming to be misrepresented in official production credits. Some of his most noteable tracks are “Ooh I Love You Rakeem,” “Warning,” and “If I Was Your Woman/Walk On By.”

New Video: French Montana – Shot Caller ft. Charlie Rock

Yesterday French Montana released the video for his track “Shot Caller.” One of NYC’s hottest emcees took to BET’s 106 & Park stage to announce both his record deal with Bad Boy and the premiere of his long-awaited video. It makes sense now why Diddy hopped on that “Shot Caller (Remix),” but the Rozay feature just had me thinking Frenchie was going the MMG route. Damn, well either way it means more music from the Bronx-bred spitta, and I know that is good. Peep the video below.
