ATL Smook

The trap and underground music scenes seems to be at an all-time high right now. With acts such as 21 Savage, Lil Uzi Vert, Kodak Black, and Denzel Curry making the XXL 2016 cover, you notice a shift in the style of music now. The emcees with the underground and or trap soundscapes are well, not so underground anymore. While they may not chart well on the top 100, tour and show wise they are crushing it. We now live in a day and age where you can get around one million plays on a track on Soundcloud and the song can go unnoticed to a lot of rap publications. Whether this trend will end or grow in the next couple years should be intriguing to keep track of.

One of the next budding names in the flourishing trap scene around Atlanta is rapper ATL Smook. While receiving minimal coverage Smook has been able to build a solid following and plays on his Soundcloud. This has led to Smook to further build his brand by linking with frequent collaborator Pollari and to performing with Swaghollywood in Los Angeles this past week. While he was out there he shot visuals for his latest drop “Me” in the California wilderness. “Me” falls under a unique category of rap which involves catchy hooks and auto on soft hitting instrumentation, similar Post Malone and Lil Yachty.
