“Boston Strong” isn’t just a saying its a lifestyle, Avenue, walks us through his journey painting a portrait through vivid description and imagery. The South End native has only been expanding his lyricism and wordplay separating himself apart from his constituants. Avenue is one of the few who seem to be rising from the ashes like a phenix, putting the myth that Boston has met its dying breed of artist.

With the recent release of his album Mass Ave & Lenox, Ave’s pen game shows to be quite deadly presenting us “Bars” at its finest. Giving us a preview of the potential that this album, Ave dropped the music video for “Ain’t S*** Funny.” The album features Royce 5’9, Smoke DZA, Ariez Onasis, Deon Chase & Prano. From the bars to the beats you have to give homage to production which was handle by Cooking to Kill (Frank The Butcher & The Arcitype), Dj7L (Czarface), Joe Cutz, Latrell James & Tedd Boyd, D. Sanders, OG Wally West & Sauve Beats.

Putting sweat and tears into each bar is apart of the building blocks of ascension, until you find yourself you’ll never know what you were meant for. Luckily for Avenue he found himself embodying the soul and aura of Boston. Through precise lyricism and punchlines on his record “Mass Ave & Lenox” proves to show that everything isn’t what it seems in this cold world. One must fend for themselves if they every choose to make it out from where they originated from.

You can purchase Mass Ave & Lenox on iTunes & view the video for Ain’t S*** Funny Above.

Ariez Onasis cruises around different landscapes, grappling with his success story and the fruits of his labor in the visual for “If You Know, You Know.” The production is smooth and eerily haunting, and fits Ariez’s trap rhyme scheme and trap lyrics. Lines like “Stuck in the moment/Just flew in from Europe” encapsulate the idea that Ariez is now larger than he ever once was, with the emphasis of the song being the increasing awareness of his fame by fans, friends, and foes alike, and describing how his hometown bred him.

Alongside Royce Da 5’9″ and Avenue, the Worchester native is helping put New England on the map in the hip-hop scene, with plenty of versatility coming out of the area that’s generally been overlooked in favor of other prominent and pre-established hip-hop meccas (such as Chicago, LA, New York, etc). Being from Worchester, it’s not a shocker that shots from the above video feature his hometown as he sees it; paired with the instrumental, it’s transparent that it’s fairly dark, and suffused with unorthodox life experiences. He clearly keeps the East Coast in his heart and mind, even though he’s currently working out of Los Angeles.

Follow Ariez on Twitter and Instagram, and be on the lookout for the If You Know, You Know EP.

Ariez Onasis travels to Buenos Aires for his newest video “Hand Of God.” I’ll admit, one could make the argument that I’m biased when it comes to Onasis’ music, can you really blame me? AO spits rapid bars over cinematic-feeling, J. Cardim production. Aside from the catchy bounce of “HOG’s” hook, the visual experience takes you through the Argentinian streets, drawing a conceptual piece that plays on soccer legend Diego Maradona both visually and in title. “Hand Of God” is another grand indication of just how good his upcoming project “The Gardner Heist” will be.

Witness the return of Ariez Onasis in his new video for “Justified” off of the upcoming album “The Gardner Heist.” Ironically enough, I was recently inquiring as to when he would be dropping new material and POOF, my inbox was blessed with this scenic utopia shot in the Virgin Islands. If you’re not familiar with Onasis, (shame on you) he shines lyrically on this J. Cardim produced record like he always does, but visually, “Justified” is captivating. I guess all the Instagram posts of what looked like a long vacation were actually packed-full work days of artistic expression Great debut from a promising project.
