Kingston Jamaica’s G Wayne Releases New Project- “Apollo”

Many artists struggle to establish their musical identity, laboriously trying on different musical styles like a piece of clothing, looking to find what fits. But there are others that emerge fully formed, in full command of their craft, their identity and their music. G Wayne fits firmly in the latter category. The rising reggae star hails from Trench town, a section of Kingston, Jamaica which was the home for famous musicians such as Bob Marley, The Wailers, Alton Ellis and more. After spending years perfecting his songwriting ability GWayne is finally ready to release his first full-length project titled ‘Apollo.’ The album has a heavy reggae vibe throughout but also G Wayne rapping on few tracks.

The 13 track project features the previously released single “Lucky Charms” featuring Honorebel which has been making waves throughout the industry. It also includes guest appearances from Infared, Trizzy, Jr. Reid, Arizona Slim and We The Best Music Group’s own Kent Jones.

Apollo Hosts No Apollogies EP Listening Party In Atlanta

Last week, V-103’s DJ Kash and DJ Theory hosted a listening party for rising R&B artist Apollo at Atlanta’s SoundProof Studios. A collection of 5 songs, all co-written by Apollo, the project showcases his unique brand of timeless and ageless music, or “Space Music,” as he likes to call it.

Apollo’s summer has been quite busy. It began with the release of his first single Tic Toc, which was produced by Cassius Jay. An admitted Lil Romeo and Lil Bow Wow fan while growing up, Tic Toc puts a modern twist on an old-school summer love song vibe. Additionally, it examines both sides of a hot and cold relationship between Apollo and a would be love interest. “I see myself performing in different countries,” Appollo told RESPECT MAG. “Putting out more great music, and continuing to build my brand.”

Meet Atlanta-area R&B Singer Apollo

Fascinated by music since he was a baby, Atlanta-area native, Apollo grew up being exposed to a variety of music, courtesy of his parents and older brothers.

But while he spent his childhood singing along to many of the songs he heard, he believed his future in the limelight would be as an actor and spent most of his teen years honing that skill. When he realized that music offered him a much better avenue to create and share his own stories, Apollo shifted his aspirations and now he has a hit song called ” Be My Love” getting air-play on V-103 FM.

Apollo is dedicated to developing himself as both a singer and songwriter, “I feel like when you have that supreme confidence in what you want, it works and people gravitate

towards that,” he says.

Over the course of the last four years, Apollo spent every free minute working on his craft, finding instrumentals online and writing songs as an exercise. He puts his all in his career and is excited about his future.
