Singer, rapper, producer…the list goes on and on for Philadelphia songstress Anyee Wright as she releases a new track titled “Sonya Blade“. “Sonya Blade” is self-produced by Anyee which she then lends her own style of singing and rapping, and the girl got bars.

Listed to perform were Sincerely Tahj, Champs, Hoax Pain, CRIME Children, and many more blazed the stage. There was one person listed to perform that blew the crowd and I away; Miss Anyee Wright. 

I walked in a very small, but packed, venue by the name of The Pharmacy located in South Philadelphia. I am welcomed by a hyper crowd and an amazing performance by Philly group, CRIME Children, followed by Hoax Pain and then Anyee Wright. Shak (the host) announces that things are going to slow down a little and that everyone should move in closer to the stage. Anyee Wright, eagerly and unworried, takes the stage and blows my mind away immediately. 

Rapidly spitting bars and singing majestically over self-produced beats, Anyee made me feel like I was the only one in the room with the amazing performance she portrayed. New R&B has taken over the game, thanks to likes of PARTYNEXTDOOR, Kehlani, Bryson Tiller, Tory Lanez, and many others. Everyone feels like they can easily relate to each of these artist while enjoying the likes of their own unique production. I believe that Anyee Wright would be the perfect addition to the new indie R&B world by adding her own voice, her own production, and her own style.
