According to Jenny Hauser, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department, ‘The victim was on his way to meet his friends for rehearsal. And when he didn’t show up, his friends went to his house, where they found him deceased by his car.’

‘It appeared (Yelchin) had momentarily exited his car leaving it in the driveway.’

Hauser said that Yelchin was pinned behind the car ‘causing the trauma which led to his death.’

He was expected to meet with his friends for rehearsal hours earlier which caused them to check on him and see what the delay was. When they arrived at his house that is when they found him dead.

Yelchin also known for roles he played in, Like Crazy and Alpha Dog, touched the lives of the people around him as well as the people he worked with.

Friends, actors and celebrities took to social media with their condolences.

Screenwriter and director, Tyler Shields also commented on his recent meeting with the actor who appeared to be making plans for future films:

‘I had dinner with Anton Yelchin 2 nights ago we talked about shooting together and making movies he is a great guy very sad to see him go.’
