Aaron Cohen snags Alexander Spit to prove lyricism is very much alive on “Booyakah.” Cohen’s visual process typically sticks to the simplistic route, creating an intimate setting which allows the listener to hang on every word of the narrative. On “Booyakah,” Cohen and Spit rhyme fire over melodic synth, creating the artistic environment we’ve come to love (and expect) from both MCs. It’s going to be difficult to not walk around shouting “BOOYAKAH, BOOYAKAH” all day, but I’ll give it my best shot.

Aaron Cohen and ABGOHARD (Ugly Boyz) drop a gritty visual for “Right Here.” I’ve been following the whole Inner City Kids for some time now and what’s stands out is consistency in their lane of music. “Right Here” (the record) sticks to that script with hard verses and a dope hook and as far as the visual goes, a house party filled with drinking, smoking tree, and fun with the homies, what’s more Hip-Hop than that?

In TeamBackPack‘s newest installment they make sure to connect Canada, Seattle and New York by creating a cypher featuring some of their most prominent up-and-coming MC’s: Raz Fresco (BKR$CLB), Aaron Cohen (Inner City Kids) and FinaL OutlaW.

Known for their eclectic mix of artists from different backgrounds and differentiating styles, the new TBP cypher showcases just that in a grand way. All three MCs spit their best over a production also created by Raz Fresco. Make sure to check out the immense amount of bars down below and stay tuned for their future projects. Fresco has already linked up with legendary Duck Down Records and Aaron Cohen is prepping his visit to a couple stages in France and Belgium for his “You Wouldn’t Know” tour. One of the standout tracks from the “You Wouldn’t Know” EP gets some beautiful imagery to pair the vocals: the MC collaborating with director Bertrand Touchard (InDaProd) to create a versatile mix of visuals ranging from Aaron performing in an all-black room to a somber room full of balloons and party favors floating around Aaron as he holds a glass of wine in his hand.

These are some of the best visuals yet from the up-and-coming MC. This won’t be the last time you’ll be seeing the ICK leader. Here’s what Aaron had to say about the project:

“I feel like rappers tend to glorify their vices rather than speak on them realistically. L.E.G. is kind of about the flip side to the drugs, women and money. Yes, the shit’s fun, I want all of that stuff too, but people end up unhappy cause they’re chasing a fantasy. Myself included.”

Kyle Rapps just missed the deadline for our list of the 13 Best Under-The-Radar Projects of 2013 So Far, but hopefully he won’t be under the radar for long. With punchlines galore, a heavy voice, and solid production varying from the bouncy bass of “Get It In”, featuring Action Bronson, to ominous drone of “Black Suburbs”, Kyle Rapps has a sweet tape on his hands. Be sure to check out “Bodies In The Trunk”, where Kyle goes absolutely off: “I make my enemies move like Bernie…I’m hung like a jury”. There are a few duds on here, mostly when Kyle reaches too far for a different style–the clunky “Super Glue”–but when Kyle sticks to talking his (creative) shit, he’s golden.
