Pro Era rep, A La $ole teams up with Odd Future’s Domo Genesis for the somber and soulful, “Where I’m From.” The reflective track, which was produced by Jordan Granados showcases A La $ole and Domo Genesis’ lyrical ability, as they detail the harsh realities of living in the inner city. According to A La, “I want you guys to see and understand where Dom & I come from. Even though I’m in Brooklyn and Domo is from Cali, we have many similarities being the artists we are and the situations we’ve been through.” Check it out below.

Pro Era lets loose their new EP, The Shift, courtesy of Scion AV. The New York collective featuring Joey Bada$$, Dessy Hinds, Kirk Knight, CJ Fly, Nyck Caution, Rokamouth, Dirty Sanchez, A La $ole, and Dyemond Lewis all make contributions to the 5-track, sample-free EP. The crew has no problem dropping bars left and right, and this tape is a testament of that. Take a listen below.

Pro Era and Scion AV are teaming up for a new EP titled The Shift. “Hail Razor” is the second offering off the EP, and is produced by Backpack. A La $ole, Dessy Hinds, and CJ Fly join forces on the track delivering hot bars over the piercing beat. The cypher-style record forgoes a hook and instead opts to focus on the verses. The Shift is set to be released on May 27.  Check it out below.

Joey Bada$$ and a few of the other Pro Era boys stepped up to the mic in the latest of 106 & Park’s The Backroom series. After Joey, we get eight bars each from Nyck Caution, Dessy Hinds, A La $ole, Kirk Knight, Dyemond Lewis, and CJ Fly.  Though it’s hard to crown the cypher’s nicest with just a few seconds of spitting from each, either Nyck or Kirk would be a good pick. Both came correct, throwing jabs like “Expect the Era Era, like a Disc Jockey yo / she flop like Bosh and now it be Toronto cold / but she used to be on Nyck like the Cosby Show” and “alchemy, triple-beamin’ grade-A batteries / I came through chargin’, charge me for battery.” Who do you think was nicest?
