Houston, Texas has been on fire lately with the talent pool of high quality artists. With Meg Thee Stallion leading the pack, rapper MYNamePhin is showing why Houston is popping off right now. In a joint venture with Private Club Records (MadeinTYO, 24hrs), and Rostrum Records (Mac Miller, Wiz Khalifa), MyNamePhin is releasing his best music to date.
On his latest single “Mike Jones“, the Houston rapper carries out his southern swag and original cadence. Named after the famous Texas rapper Mike Jones, PHIN showcases his depth in lyrical prose, over a sick beat. Anytime a young emcee pays homage to an elder rapper, it is always a good look and humble beginnings.
To take this release to new heights, he followed it up with a dope visual courtesy of FilthyMcDave. Shot on location in H-Town, you will see Houston legend Mike Jones make a cameo. His on camera presence helps solidify MyNamePhin as the next big star coming out of Texas. If you appreciate real, cinematic videos, you will  fall in love with this visual.

With a fresh Atlanta style, the mysterious 24HRS has been the new talk of the town, especially after his standout track “Time” got played on OVO Sound Radio episode 13.  There is no face to the name or to the music on 24Hrs’ soundcloud. Regardless, the trap infused records with enough auto-tuning and well done production will have you replaying the 24HRS EP. There is enough Atlanta influence in the music as well his own established style that could be described as very infectious. With songs like “Time” to “Excite Me” 24HRS is headed in the right direction and soon to go viral. Look out for this artist in 2016 as he continues to grow.

What makes the music even better is not knowing who and or what the artist looks like. Big timers like The Weeknd came up in the game with that strategy. It is too early to say what everyone can expect from 24HRS but either way, the assumption is, this one will be worth the wait.
