Passion, hunger, aggression, and skill; these are just a few words that might come to mind when you hear independent Chicago emcee TtheGAWD. “GAWD” is an acronym for Getting Ahead Without Devolving. With a unique baritone, agile flow, TtheGAWD has an ear for production that compliments his style. Hailing from Chicago’s now defunct LeClaire Courts housing projects, TtheGAWD realized his love for music early on. His mother would always sing around the house and she even taught him the alphabet using notable musicians of the time: “A” is for Al B. Sure, “B” is for Bobby Brown, and so on.

After taking a step away from music for two years, TtheGAWD returns with a 12 track project, fully loaded with noteworthy quotables and hard hitting beats.  He knew exactly what he wanted to accomplish with the I Am GAWD album, and alongside Chicago producer Max Julian, TtheGAWD convincingly displays the tenacity of his penmanship, his ear for solid production as well as the ability to tell engaging stories through songs. I Am GAWD is an ode to the mid to late ‘90s, grimey New York era, combined with his personal experiences growing up in Chicago’s inner city.

TtheGAWD set out to rediscover who he is as an emcee and artist with this album. No autotune, no formulaic song structure, and no redundant content. Just a masterful display of a level of art that’s not really being heard on a large scale from Chicago at the moment. The title says it all: I Am GAWD — which translates to “I Am Getting Ahead Without Devolving.” Meaning, he won’t compromise who he is to get where he’s going.

I Am GAWD is available now, exclusively on BandCamp and will be available on all digital streaming platforms on August 14th.

600 Breezy is without a doubt a Chicago mainstay. Emerging from the Drill movement that took the nation by storm, 600 forged his own path with his unique flow and vocals which endeared him to fans across the globe. Having overcome personal hardships and tragedy, 600’s circumstances fueled his work ethic, releasing a bevy of mixtapes and even captured the attention of rap superstar Drake, who used the then newcomers vocals on his More Life playlist track “Lose You.” The fanfare was short-lived though as 600 Breezy was arrested on a probation violation. In his time away, he received much support, included from Drake himself.

After serving 16 months, 600 was released and wasted no time getting back into the studio. Fast forward to 2020, now on Asylum Records, the Chicago native has returned with the release of Iceman Edition 2. The project is a departure from his more recent sounds, describing it as an apologetic return to his gangsta roots.

“I went back to my hood to reconnect with myself,” says Breezy. “I locked myself into the studio, slept on floors with my people, and watched the sun come up for days. I had to shake the Hollywood nonsense off me and get back to shit-talking Breezo. I created this project strictly for the streets.”

The 10-track project features production from Kid Hazel (21 Savage), Bankroll Got It (DaBaby), Womatictrack (2 Chainz), and more. Further upping the ante, 600 Breezy released a visual to accompany the project in the form of the 3ZFilms-directed “Signature.”

After establishing regional popularity in 2019 with his trailblazing song, “ADHD” and magnetic styles. And with his biggest year yet, he continues to ride a wave to the top with his newest track, titled, “Suplex.” In his third release of the year, Kiddo Scoobie continues to accumulate a widespread stronghold on the current Hip Hop landscape with his latest effort with a creative Krispy Kam-directed visual.

In the video, Kiddo holds court on the stoop and kicks a couple of sweet-flavored raps about paper chasing, being the hottest and more. His southern drawl, style, and energy has attracted special attention from industry influencers to your favorite DJs. The song is produced by Samix X gosha.

Kiddo Scoobie’s journey begins 2014 in Birmingham, Alabama with his 6-track debut, titled, Long Story Short. Diversifying his lyrics from police brutality to partying and enjoying life. In 2018, Scoobie’s star power rose to the surface after the streets naturally attracted to his music. In 2019, his star power was at an all-time high with his anticipated collaborations and music.

“Suplex” is the direct follow-up to Scoobie’s recently released single, “U.N.” The new music comes on the heels of Kiddo Scoobie’s 2019 breakout album, Aon: The Old Testament. The album includes street hits “Rake,” “Can’t Get Enough” and “Fall”, Chiino Grigio, Cash Royal and HNR Hundo guest appears.

North Philadelphia’s own FatboyCash returns with a brand new single ready to set the summer ablaze. The new record titled “OG Type Shit” displays how FBC describes himself as a hustler who made it out the streets with the motto that “You Can Make it out the streets.”
