On Saturday, November 23rd, the Red Bull Music Festival in Chicago hosted one hell of an event featuring Smino and his collective, Zero Fatigue. A great pick for the festival, Smino’s blend of future funk and melodic rapping has brought him to the forefront of Chicago’s hip hop and R&B scene, blending warm, organic soul with cutting edge production.

Held at Thalia Hall, the show kicked off with opening acts DJ Nosidam, Schenay Mosley and Monte Booker. Lighting up the room, Smino’s performance lasted about 45 minutes to an hour long. Playing his favorites and top singles, Smino had the crowd lit. The energy was on point and I’m sure everyone that attended could agree. Thumbs up for this night with Smino and his talented set, Zero Fatigue.

Many remember that the project was produced by Metro Boomin. Future is re-releasing the mixtape, in honor, of his friend and former engineer Seth Firkins who passed in 2017. This tape came equipped with classics like “Fuck Up Some Commas, Codeine Crazy, and My Savages.” Fans have a chance to re-order, the vintage “Monster” tee that originally dropped in 2016.

Once again, from Queens, New York, all the way down to Los Angeles, California, 2 powerful forces in hip-hop combine to deliver their latest single, “Ashtray“, accompanied by a fly, elegant visual.

The duo took a trip to Tulum, Mexico and connected with director, Kwinten Kwervo to capture the fly sh*t, where You’ll find XP The Marxman in several picturesque scenes, letting off raw raps over smooth, percussion-less production, suitably constructed by Icerocks.

Feel old yet? I remember being in high school, saving up lunch money to get what is arguably Eminem‘s greatest album The Marshall Mathers LP out of a CD exchange store. Now, 20 years later, fans of the pivotal project celebrate with Em as he delivers an ‘Expanded Version’ of the classic, which now features choice cuts “Get You Mad” (from Sway & King Tech) and “Bad Guys Always Die” (from the Wild Wild West soundtrack), along with instrumental and acapella versions of “Hazardous Youth,” “Greg,” “Guilty Conscience” and “Just Don’t Give A F***.”

Today makes one year since the passing of the legendary Prodigy of Mobb Deep.  Although he isn’t with us, in physical form, his legacy lives on, and hip-hop continues to keep the classics in rotation.  P is well known and beloved for his voice, bona-fide street tales, sharing his personal life through music, and overall, being one of the illest emcees to ever pick up the mic.

His untimely death, at the young age of 42, still hurts the hip-hop community, and we hope his family, friends, and fans all across the globe continue to remain strong and keep the memories alive.  Here are 5 of our favorite Mobb Deep tracks.  Feel free to let us know your favorites in the comments section.

North Memphis rapper Bandanna Bonds returns with a new raw visual for his latest single, “Dedication” shot by 24kreations. Bonds touches the streets with this one giving us a gritty-emotional message bar for bar. Viewers can’t help but feel his story as he delivers through a cinematic visual.

Starting off the record addressing his baby sitter molesting him as a child, Bonds proves that he holds no secret even through the most traumatic points of his life. He is clearly a strong individual – especially speaking on subjects most male rappers wouldn’t dare. He also discusses his experience serving a decade behind bars from being in the streets and then disses the streets due to the bad that comes with it.

Now on a new promising path he’s not afraid to share his story down to details. It wouldn’t be a shock to see this rising rapper as a leader in hip hop through his touching and direct content with the potential to change the game.

He dedicates the song to all the fallen soldiers, hence the name – Dedication.
