Since making a name for himself with his critically-acclaimed Cinco De Money mixtapes, he teamed up with Cardo Got Wings and more for his debut album ‘Money Got Wings’ coming August 5th. Fat Money (fka Ty Money) has been putting in work on his craft for over a decade and catching the attention of the industry, recently receiving co-signs from Dre, Kanye, who he’s been writing with for Donda 2, Pusha T, and more as he separates himself from Chicago’s trademark drill scene with his classic, wordplay-led approach. Spitting fire over a plethora of instrumentals, his candid rhymes and razor-sharp wit are on full display on this album.
The follow up to the cinematic “Part 1” video, the “Part 2” video includes his new Cardo-produced single “Bag From Hell” along with snippets from “Aww Man” and “2004.” “Part 2” finds Fat Money cruising through the desert to the tune of “Bag From Hell,” before coming for necks with unapologetic bars (“Aww Man”) in front of a black, cloudy backdrop, and finally transitioning to sitting comfortably in a mansion surrounded by models as he reminisces on his past over acoustic strings in the video’s last snippet “2004.”
We got a chance to speak with Fat Money to discuss his upcoming debut album, working with Kanye West & Dr. Dre, his favorite tracks off the project + much more. Get into the interview audio below.
