A new trading card brand, The Infinite, announces their launch. Created by one of the most notable and respected names in the trading card industry, Karvin Cheung, the company is the realization of Cheung’s vision to blend the music industry with the trading card industry. The Infinite launches with a first-of-its-kind trading card set with Billboard featuring international Superstar The Weeknd.
“I always saw how athletes’ memories were kept alive through trading cards and thought why not musicians?” said Karvin Cheung, creator of The Infinite. “The idea has always burned inside to create trading cards for iconic artists and use it as an opportunity to tell their story.”
Cheung’s former creations include the Exquisite Collection, which has seen individual trading cards from the set sell for in excess of $5 Million in the past year. “Karvin’s respect within the collecting community for being a creative genius and record breaker is unmatched. Billboard is honored to partner with him on his debut set in the music space,” said Julian Holguin, President of Billboard.
The Weeknd card set will come with five cards that feature several images from the ‘Blinding Lights’ music video. Certain cards within the set will feature The Weeknd’s autograph. Karvin worked closely with The Weeknd’s team to create what will be known as The Debut card set for both The Infinite and The Weeknd.
This will be the first of music artists card set collections as The Weeknd card set will be available at https://shop.theweeknd.com/ and priced at $100 per pack in limited quantities. The Infinite will feature trading card sets of some of the most notable names in music in the coming months. Karvin’s vision for the brand will include groundbreaking innovation for the rapidly growing trading card industry.
