Chicago-based label, We All We Got (WAWG) is joining Foot Locker as the newest brand partner as part of the retailer’s ongoing Home Grown platform. WAWG debuted its first collection with Foot Locker – ‘Remember The Good Times’ – exclusively at the 87th and Cottage Grove Foot Locker store in Chicago.
Founded by Des Owusu in 2014, WAWG has since maintained a steady build, growing from only selling novelty items to expanding a range of apparel, and two recent shoe collaborations with adidas for NBA All-Star 2020. In 2016, WAWG created a sub-brand by the name of “Chicago Girls Do It Better”. Chicago Girls Do It Better started off as a simple nod to the ladies of Chicago, and now has grown into an attitude and sense of pride amongst Chicago girls. Both “We All We Got” and “Chicago Girls Do It Better” are rooted in the ideas of using fashion as a medium to push and advocate for youth and women empowerment, unity, art, and collective development.
Foot Locker launched Home Grown in 2019 as a platform to connect communities and showcase designers across the nation, including Chicago. Through the program, Foot Locker aims to further elevate and support the hottest designers shaping the future of streetwear. WAWG joins fellow Chicago-based brands Fake Decent, Gratitude Chicago, Jugrnaut, Icon The Collection, Hooligan Brand and as part of the Chicago Home Grown community.
Retailing for $22 – $70 , the ‘Remember The Goods Times’ debut collection with Foot Locker is comprised of three tees, track pants, socks, and two bags – all of which feature WAWG’s signature Chicago Girls Do It Better moniker throughout. The collection is available exclusively at the 87th and Cottage Grove store.
In correlation with the launch day, WAWG will host a one-day pop up at the 87th and Cottage Foot Locker from 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM CST. Founder, Des grew up shopping at this specific Foot Locker with his mom as a reward for good grades. To celebrate the full circle moment, Des will be on-site for meet and greets and to celebrate the launch, including a live DJ spinning tunes and custom photo wall.
