300 Entertainment has been named one of Fast Company’s Best Workplaces for Innovators on their annual list honoring businesses and organizations that demonstrate a deep commitment to encouraging innovation at all levels. 300 Entertainment has beed honored in the Small Company-Size Category for an unwavering dedication to its staff throughout the pandemic and an unstoppable year for the company as a whole.
Developed in collaboration with Accenture, the 2021 Best Workplaces for Innovators ranks 100 winners from a variety of industries, including computer science, biotech, consumer packaged goods, nonprofit, education, financial services, cybersecurity, and engineering. Working together, Fast Company editors and Accenture researchers scored nearly 1,500 applications, and a panel of eight eminent judges reviewed and endorsed the top 100 companies. The 2021 awards feature workplaces from around the world with several of the honorees based outside the U.S.
“These leaders and teams created cultures of innovation and sustained them, even as remote work extended into 2021,” says Stephanie Mehta, editor-in-chief of Fast Company. “This newest list of the Best Workplaces for Innovators honors those organizations that found ways to collaborate and invent despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, ensuring employees were at the forefront.”
300 Entertainment’s inclusion on Fast Company’s third annual list of Best Workplaces for Innovators follows a number of nominations and wins for 300 and its artist roster, including 3 GRAMMY Awards–the most of any independent record label this year, a Shorty Award, Webby Awards, and an honor on Inc. Magazine’s Best Workplaces list. These wins comes in spite of the uncertainty and turmoil of the past year. CEO Kevin Liles took these unprecedented times as an opportunity to implement meaningful change within the company and has seen great success along the way, benchmarked by being named Billboard’s Executive of the Year. Kevin Liles believes in ‘family business’ and he and the team have launched several ongoing initiatives last year, including the 300 wellness program that reimburse employees for the cost of mental health services, a gym membership, and more. 300 Entertainment also kickstarted the Employee Crisis Fund to financially support family and friends of the team who have been affected by COVID to reduce financial and emotional burden. The company-wide initiative “300 Takes a Break” was also established as a means to provide employees with additional rest and relaxation. With this plan, each employee is reimbursed for travel expenses to encourage a break during a time when there is no real separation between home and work. This year, the company kicked off an unparalleled Tuition Reimbursement Program to reimburse employees for their college tuition loans. 300 also supports employees through its 401k and healthcare plan.

“300 exists because we are risk takers and we’ve never been afraid to fail. I co-founded the company with my partners when the industry was least profitable because we believed that music will always be a main character in the motion picture we call life. A never ending soundtrack that will be streamed for eternity. Consumer consumption behaviors may change, but their love for music will never die. Nearly a decade later, we continue to reap the rewards and I am constantly empowering my staff to do the same. Where we may be small in numbers, we make up for in power because we never shy away from doing what others won’t.
“It is crucial to me that each and every member of my staff feel valued and seen. To be recognized as one of Fast Company’s Best Workplaces for Innovators can be attributed to family business, our company culture that encourages independence and nurtures collaboration and community. As we always say at 300, being independent doesn’t mean you have to do it alone.”
– Kevin Liles, CEO/Co-founder of 300 Entertainment
