Producers behind the premier boutique R&B music festival Sol Blume are excited to announce the launch of a brand new festival property called Lost in Riddim that will take place Saturday, October 2 and Sunday, October 3 in the team’s hometown of Sacramento, California. Two-day GA and VIP tickets go on sale at 10:00 a.m. PT this Friday, July 9 at www.LostInRiddim.com.
Considered one of the country’s top emerging boutique music festivals, Sol Blume is known for curating a completely unique lineup each year that features today’s most sought-after R&B, soul, and hip-hop acts. Lost in Riddim looks to build upon that beloved tradition while also highlighting other popular genres of black and African music including afrobeats, afro-fusion, dancehall, reggae, and more.
The new event will be held at the historic Cesar Chavez Plaza near downtown Sacramento, which is also home to Sol Blume. While at the downtown park, fans should expect an intimate and highly curated festival-going experience with an underlying emphasis on diversity, inclusivity, and creativity.
As a black-owned independent business, Lost in Riddim is proud to present this year’s lineup that is made up entirely of black music artists, as well as some of the most respected artists in all of Africa and across the Caribbean region. The inaugural music lineup for Lost in Riddim 2021 is listed below and available online at www.LostInRiddim.com:

Each day of the festival will be headlined by one of Africa’s biggest artists – WizKid on Saturday, October 2 followed by Burna Boy on Sunday, October 3 – both of whom are some of the continents’ most streamed and decorated music artists of all time. Most recently, both Nigerian artists were winners at the 2021 GRAMMY Awards for Best Music Video with Wiz Kid acting as lead artist on Beyoncé’s “Brown Skin Girl” song from the major motion picture Lion King and for Best World Music Album following Burna Boy’s Twice as Tall released last fall.
Day 1 performances also include a number of Nigerian-born acts including Nigerian-American actor, singer Rotimi, perhaps best known for his recent role on the STARZ hit series Power; one of the country’s fastest rising music acts, Rema; and two other Nigerian singer/songwriters including Fireboy DML and Tems, that latter of whom recently collaborated with fellow festival performer WizKid on the hit song “Essence” that earned her the No. 1 spot on the BBC 1Xtra Airplay Charts earlier this year.
Additional Saturday performers include Nigerian singer/songwriters Oxlade and Ladipoe; Ghanaian-American singer/songwriter Amaarae; and rising Jamaican dancehall singer Projexx.
Helping close-out Day 2 of the festival on Sunday include the award-winning Nigerian singer/songwriter Mr Eazi, who also a serial entrepreneur known for supporting other emerging African artists; the “Queen of Afrobeats” Tiwa Savage, who was previously hailed by British Vogue as one of the 10 women that are changing the face of music globally; Jamaican reggae rapper and singer/songwriter Koffee, who is the youngest person and only woman to be awarded the Best Reggae Album award in GRAMMY Awards history; and Jamaican dancehall singer Shenseea, who is preparing for the release of her highly-anticipated debut album later this year
Other Sunday acts include two up-and-coming Nigerian singer/songwriters Joeboy, and Johnny Drill; South African rapper Sho Madjozi; Brooklyn-born Albanian songstress Enisa; and British R&B trio WSTRN. Plus, fans can expect special DJ sets all weekend long from Donavan’s Sound Club and DJ Cuppy, the latter of which recently helped Apple Music launch its first radio show in Africa earlier this spring.
“We created this event to not only showcase some of the most popular international music artists in the entire world, many of whom continued to be overlooked by major US music festivals, but also create a unique celebration about the beauty of African culture. The team can’t wait to soon debut a completely unique festival-going experience in Sacramento this Fall,” said Festival Co-Founders Fornati Kumeh and Jehu “Manny” Hunter in a joint statement. “Throwing Lost In Riddim in Sacramento was also a no-brainer because not only is this our hometown, but our other festival Sol Blume has ultimately helped to lay the groundwork for us to expand locally and launch a second concept this fall.”
Two-day GA passes are available for purchase now at www.LostInRiddim.com, starting at just $140. Weekend VIP passes are also on sale for $350. Interested patrons are encouraged to purchase their tickets now as prices will continue to increase as the festival dates draw near and similar to Sol Blume, the festival is expected to sell out in advance.
Lost in Riddim was created by Fornati Kumeh and Jehu “Manny” Hunter, both of whom are of African descent as well as longtime Sacramento residents. The duo oversees an independent Sacramento-based music promotions company responsible for producing popular concerts and festivals both in Sacramento and across northern California.
The fall 2021 music festival debuting this fall will mark the first festival expansion from the team following the launch of Sol Blume in 2018. Their flagship music festival regularly welcomes to its stages a number of critically-acclaimed R&B, soul, and hip-hop music acts as past Sol Blume performers include the likes of Miguel, J.I.D, Jessie Reyez, Ari Lennox, Maségo, The Internet, GoldLink, Sabrina Claudio, Smino, and Xavier Omär, among many others.
After a brief hiatus in 2020, Sol Blume is now scheduled to return to Sacramento in spring 2022. The full music lineup along with ticket on-sale information will be announced later this year at SolBlume.com.
