Today, Casio announces the latest addition to its popular G-SHOCK Full Metal GMWB5000 series, featuring a refined multicolor Ion-Plated Band and mirror finished bezel. The GMWB5000TR-9 introduces a new titanium material called “Tran Tixxii,” which was jointly developed over a six-year period by Casio and Nippon Steel Corporation, Japan’s largest steelmaker, resulting in a hardness that is approximately twice that of pure titanium, while offering a mirror surface comparable to that of stainless steel.
The Tran Tixxii titanium alloy material makes the GMWB5000TR-9 the first titanium G-SHOCK with an all-mirror finish, alongside a screw back with diamond-like carbon (DLC) finish for outstanding wear resistance.
The case of the watch has a gold ion-plated (IP) finish, and the band links and buttons also have an IP finish in eye-catching red, blue, light gray, dark gray, and gold colors that are also seen as accents on the face.
The GMWB5000TR-9 is equipped with BluetoothÒ Connectivity via the G-SHOCK Connected app for automatic time adjustment, world time, and many more functions that are easy to use. The innovative design is accompanied by outstanding practicality, thanks to the original Tough Solar power system, Multi-band 6 radio wave reception, a STN LCD and a full-auto LED backlight.
The GMWB5000TR-9 will retail for $1,700 and will be available for purchase mid-May at select G-SHOCK retailers, G-SHOCK Soho Store, and gshock.com.
