For Spring 2021, HPNOTIQ – the eye-catching liqueur that combines a premium blend of exotic fruit juices, French vodka & a touch of cognac – is launching the brand’s first-ever animated ‘Sipcom’ series (providing a fresh update to the traditional sitcom) titled “The HQ”. In the series, Hpnotiq opens up a nightclub under the direction of two hip-hop and NYC icons FAT JOE & JIM JONES. “The HQ” is the go-to spot for hip-hop’s hottest rappers to hang out, discuss the rap game and of course, sip on Hpnotiq cocktails!
The new animated series Hpnotiq combines modern TV classics (ex. Cheers) with animation (ex. BoJack Horseman, The Boondocks, etc.) for hip-hop’s new hit show.
For 20 years, since its inception in 2001, Hpnotiq has lived at the intersection of culture, music and nightlife as the liqueur has been prominently features in music videos, iconic song lyrics and at the center table at the hottest nightclubs. In 2019, the brand continued to pay homage to its hip-hop roots and celebrate the brand’s future when it announced legendary hip-hop artist Joseph “Fat Joe” Cartagena as Creative Director of Hpnotiq!
Airing weekly, each episode of the 10-part “The HQ” series features Fat Joe and Jim Jones hitting up the animated nightclub to take on the hottest topics in the rap game including Old heads vs. New Jacks, How to Flex as a Sneakerhead, and reliving classic moments in hip-hop history. The series will also feature celebrity guests’ appearances and corresponding “how-to” cocktail videos!
Earlier this year, Hpnotiq held the #IconiqSession competition that provided a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for a fan to work with Jim Jones and Hpnotiq’s Iconiq Director (Creative Director) himself Fat Joe to produce the show’s theme song. Recorded at Jim Jones’ innovative Quarantine Studios, the winning song was made by up-and-coming Queen’s producer/rapper Tenn Buick.
“Hpnotiq has been a part of hip-hop culture since the early 2000s – from the bars, clubs and nightlife to music videos the famous blue hue bottles were synonymous with a good time” said Fat Joe, Creative Director at Hpnotiq. “So with many bars and restaurants closed during the past year, we decided to launch a virtual nightclub in The HQ which is hip-hop’s first animated ‘sipcom’ series. I teamed up with my fellow NYC rap icon Jim Jones to discuss the rap game, classic hip-hop moments and even recipes on how-to make the brand’s signature cocktails so we can bring the Hpnotiq Experience directly to your home.”
New episodes of Hpnotiq Presents: The HQ featuring Fat Joe & Jim Jones will air weekly on Hpnotiq’s social channels. For more information about Hpnotiq and “The HQ” Sipcom series, please Hpnotiq.com and follow @Hpnotiq on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.
