Today, CMG Records announced that it has signed rising Louisville rapper EST Gee to a record deal. The announcement comes on the heels of the release of Gee’s recently-released project, I Still Don’t Feel Nun, that includes collaborations with CMG CEO Yo Gotti as well as MoneyBagg Yo, Jack Harlow, Kevin Gates and 42 Dugg, among many others.
On the 16-track body of work, Gee showcased his natural rapping ability and quickly asserted himself as a viciously versatile force, which propelled him to amass millions of views and streams independently and garner acclaim from the likes of Pitchfork.
“I know a star and hustler when I see one and EST Gee is up next,” Gotti said. “He got what it takes.”
Gee’s latest project received support across all digital streaming partners and media publications, garnering recognition from ABC News Radio, HotNewHipHop, HipHop DX, Okayplayer and gained co-signs from the likes of Lil Baby, Mulatto, Meek Mill, and more. He also recently shared the video for “Members Only” which features Detroit rapper and fellow CMG signee, 42 Dugg. On “Members Only” Gee and Dugg show off their slick wordplay and dynamic flows over a fast-speed tempo.
In the accompanying video, which premiered via Complex, the guys are posted up at a party breezily matching the tracks braggadocios yet charismatic energy. This year, Gee also teamed up with GRAMMY nominated Louisville native rapper, Jack Harlow, on his track “Route 66.” No strangers to one another, “Route 66” is the third time the pair teamed up only this time it led to Gee’s debut late night performance alongside Jack, on Jimmy Kimmel Live! A few months into the release of I Still Don’t Feel Nun, we’re quickly witnessing that in many ways, the acronym EST hints at his future in Louisville and beyond.
