Ohio-born hip hop artist Stalley debuts his music visual for his single “Motion” exclusively on droppTV (@dropptv; the droppTV app is available on iOS and Android.). droppTV is the “shoppable Netflix” for hip hop-loving hypebeasts, and this is Stalley’s second shoppable music video release on the platform – his first was “Why You Lying.” Stalley also launches new “BCG” merchandise (named after his label Blue Collar Gang), with a hat and T-shirt that viewers can shop straight from the video, as it appears on screen.
In the video, directed by Frankie Fire, Stalley is performing his track facing the camera with a montage of NYC scenes behind him, as he dons his new merch such as the 100% cotton BCG “Spill The World” Tee ($50) in navy & bright orange and the BCG black snapback hat, with an embroidered logo and official BCG logo patch (also $50).
“Motion,” produced by J. Patterns, is about the motion of life – the idea of staying in motion, staying on track, and staying the course even when it isn’t easy or there are obstacles. Frankie Fire came up with the concept for the video. He and Stalley bounced ideas around until they landed on the visuals seen in the “Motion” video. The visuals are all about motion and motion around us.
Stalley has mentioned that he partnered with droppTV because they’re revolutionizing the music industry through actually allowing interaction in music videos via watching and shopping. “Motion” is part of Stalley’s latest album, “Speak No Blue” that features the likes of Major Myjah and Trippie Redd and was released on September 25 on his label Blue Collar Gang.
We got a chance to speak with Stalley about being an independent artist, his new visual for “motion”, his goals coming into 2021 + much more. Get into the interview audio below.
