Jai Manselle Unleashes Reebok, Cardi B, Showtime and Allen Iverson Collaborations for December 2020
The entrepreneur and designer, known as the “King Of Branding,” finishes 2020 with a string of history-making collaborations.
Hampton, VA Jai Manselle (and his MANSELLE brand) is finishing 2020 with a string of historic collaborations. The sneakers he co-designed with Reebok for the Iverson Classic All-American game will get a national release on December 2nd. The next week he will be producing Battle In The Bluff, an elite amateur basketball showcase hosted by Stephen Jackson for the iconic cable network Showtime. Then, to top it off, December will mark record sales for his Rap Snacks snack food collaborations with Cardi B, Migos, and The Notorious BIG. By the end of the month, 2020 will have seen nearly 30 million products released featuring a MANSELLE logo.
Iverson Classic is a popular All-American basketball game co-founded by Manselle, NBA superstar Allen Iverson and businessman Bobby Bates. The game’s highly competitive style and focus on culture propelled it to the most-watched All-American in the country in 2018 and 2019 (there were no All-American games in 2020, due to the pandemic). Manselle co-designed a version of the classic Reebok Question sneaker to be released as a collaboration between Iverson Classic and Reebok. Now, those sneakers will be released to the public on December 2nd. The shoes feature dark suede, leather, and nubuck over a bold, original grey and blue kente pattern that pulls inspiration from Virginia, Africa, Philadelphia, and streetball culture into a cohesive design that feels radical and classic at the same time. The sneakers will be available at Champs Sports and mark the first time in history that a top All-American game has released a sneaker to the public.
Though this year’s Iverson Classic had to be canceled, the Iverson Classic brand continues to grow. Most notably by spinning off into a second event titled Showtime Basketball Presents… Iverson Classic: Battle in The Bluff. Bluff is a high school showcase taking place in Memphis, TN (nicknamed Bluff City) Dec 10-12th. Frequent Iverson Classic coach and NBA Champion Stephen Jackson will take on hosting duties. Partnering with Showtime Basketball represents an important step for both Iverson Classic and Showtime as it is the first time Showtime has presented an amateur basketball event. The game will feature some of the top-ranked high school players in the country like JD Davidson and Robert Dillingham playing with their own teams in highly competitive matchups that wouldn’t happen during the regular season.
Manselle’s bold aesthetic has also been inescapable in the grocery store recently. Manselle-helmed releases with Cardi B, Migos, The Notorious BIG, and more for the Rap Snacks line of snacks have filled millions of shoppers’ carts in 2020. The eye-catching, colorful packaging can be seen nationwide in stores like Walmart, Kroger, 7-11, Sav-A-Lot, and more. Rap Snacks currently produces chips, popcorn, cheese puffs, pork skins, and even ramen noodles all adorned with high-profile celebrity endorsements. Manselle says there is much more to come in 2021. ”We’ve been disrupting the snack aisle in ways people said we couldn’t. It took us years to kick those doors down, don’t expect us to slow up now.” he added.
