In 2016, Black voter turnout dipped, and ahead of the 2020 election, Sprite wants to educate young Black and multicultural voters to participate in this year’s election. The brand is teaming up with actress and change agent Yara Shahidi (recently announced as Disney’s new Tinkerbell), GRAMMY Award-winning artist 2 Chainz and GRAMMY nominated artist Rapsody, to inspire and educate young Black and multicultural voters to participate in the election.
“Create Your Future” voting education campaign details:
- “Create Your Future”: Sprite is working with six young, emerging Black artists to create pieces focused on why voting is important to them. These pieces will be elevated in creative ways by notable figures and celebrities including: Yara Shahidi, 2 Chainz and Rapsody, to further inspire Black and multicultural youth to get involved in the election.
- Sprite.com Takeover: Starting today, head to Sprite.com/CreateYourFuture for educational voting resources and more information on the custom designs rolling out this month as part of “Create Your Future.” Fans are encouraged to share their reasons for voting by mentioning @Sprite with #CreateYourFuture on Twitter, Snapchat and YouTube.
- True to Sprite’s Roots: Sprite has a long history of spotlighting tastemakers and innovators in hip-hop and culture. Ahead of the 2020 election, Sprite is creating a platform to spotlight Black voices and their personal reasons for voting and to encourage others to vote too.
