Universal Brand Development and Illumination collaborate with Verdy, designer of Girls Don’t Cry, to launch a capsule collection featuring Illumination’s global phenomenon, the Minions from the Despicable Me franchise. Up-and-coming designers alongside Verdy are each collaborating with the Minions, blending their own individual aesthetics with the iconic bright yellow, larger-than-life characters.
The Verdy x Minions capsule collection features a range of fashion items and lifestyle goods each with prices ranging from $90 USD to $160 USD. The collection dropped exclusively on HBX.com on Friday, September 18th and was sold-out instantly online.
A window installation of Verdy’s collection will also be in place at HBX Hong Kong Landmark until mid-October, welcoming visitors to explore and engage the collections. The display will feature Verdy’s signature mascot, Vick alongside the Minions character.
This is just the first of a series of fashion collections that showcase the Minions embedding themselves into the fabric of streetwear. Stay tuned for more information regarding each collection launch from Hypebeast and Illumination.
