Today in typical ‘Fargo Fridays’ fashion, Grammy-Nominated and newly independent Tory Lanez drops “The VVS Capsule,” a 2-track package deal, via One Umbrella/Stem distribution platform.
The capsule features single “Staccato,” as well as a new collaboration with up-and-coming Florida artist VV$ KEN, entitled “392.” VV$ KEN is the newest addition to Lanez’s label One Umbrella, and he directly inspired the title of the two-track release. As a single, “Staccato” easily holds its own. It has an energetic, summery beat that makes audiences want to close their eyes and groove to the music. A fresh guitar lick runs throughout the song, delivering a vibe that feels refreshing and new. The up-tempo beat pairs well with Lanez’s voice, creating an incredibly catchy tune that fans will have on repeat.
In contrast, “392” is darker and heavier, delivering a raw hip-hop beat that Lanez is known for. Lanez and VV$ Ken work well together; their voices compliment each other and pair well with the smooth keyboard that grounds the song. VV$ Ken brings energy and punch grabbing your attention in the first verse, while Lanez croons and keeps it cool in the second verse of the song. The result is a multi-faceted rap track that is sure to please Lanez’s day ones.
