Fashion and lifestyle brand Saintwoods (@saintwoods) – founded by Nathan Gannage and Zach Macklovitch – is set to drop its highly anticipated SW.009 ready-to-wear collection globally on July 1st, 2020. While they’ve found success in quickly selling out their previous collections, which have featured beloved cut-and-sew pieces like t-shirts and sweatshirts with cheeky, satirical graphics, this next collection marks a step the brand is taking into elevating their fashion pieces and pushing new boundaries with their collections.
SW.009 is a 21-piece debuting all new ready-to-wear pieces, as well as hats and accessories, that continue to reference inside jokes, nostalgic memories, and inspiration from the founder’s hometowns of Montreal and Toronto, Canada. Key pieces include the Saintwoods sublimated “Racing Jersey” and the “Reaper Hockey Jersey,” both of which play on the classic athletic silhouette.
This is the brand’s ninth full collection since the ready-to-wear label launched in 2016, adding fashion to Gannage and Macklovitch’s impressive portfolio of brands and projects across multiple culturally important creative and hospitality industries.
Keeping up with social distancing protocols, the campaign features close friends and family members the two founders are currently isolating with and was shot at their photographer, Scott Pilgrim’s loft where past brand campaigns have often been used as location.
Further style highlights include tongue-in-cheek graphics such as the “Susame” tee and hoodie, “Tourist” tee,” “Matter of Survival” hoodie, and “Hand-Dyed Medallion” long sleeve sitting alongside a faux-Angora Fur “Fuzzy Bucket Hat,” the brand’s signature logo tees and hoodies, plus more.
The release of SW.009 comes after the brand announced its Charity Capsule on June 12th – a limited collection of T-Shirts and Hoodies featuring graphics that references police as “pigs” to describe their lack of humanity and brutish behavior, as well as a “You’re Fired” design that calls for the severance and lawful punishment of police who have committed crimes. This Charity Capsule has since completely sold out, and Saintwoods has raised over $10,000 in support of the Black Lives Matter movement from the capsule’s proceeds.
Saintwoods’ SW.009 ready-to-wear collection will drop online at saintwoods.com on July 1st, 2020.
