Yoshi24k just released his new single and video for “Outta Here”. Yoshi has been making major waves in New York recently with his last single “Pot” that quickly racked up over a million views on YouTube and he performed alongside Fivio Foreign at the legendary New York venue SOBs. In recent weeks, Yoshi has been teasing a ton of new music on Instagram including tracks with Lil Yachty, KILLY and multi-platinum producer FKi 1st. “Outta Here” is the first glimpse of Yoshi’s forthcoming project that’s set to release in the coming weeks.
“Outta Here” is produced by frequent collaborator, SHAM, and the track serves as a farewell to Yoshi24k’s early life as he reflects on the changing lifestyle that comes with being one of the brightest new voices coming out of New York City’s rap renaissance. Although Yoshi24k’s echoing melodies and atmospheric production contrast the drill-influenced sounds dominating the city, his music represents another side of New York and offers the perfect soundtrack to weaving through traffic on a sleepless city night.
Yoshi24k is a 21-year-old artist from the Lower East Side of Manhattan, who has quickly established himself as a leader for the new generation shaping fashion and culture in SoHo and downtown NYC. It was through hustling and constantly moving around the city that led him to rap; his first experience on the mic was hopping on a track with Smokepurpp in 2017. Yoshi24k, whose government name is Aly, was also famously referenced in Sheck Wes’ breakthrough hit, “Mo Bamba,” with the line “Where’s Aly with the motherfucking dope?” He shared more of that story during a recent interview with Travis Mills on Beats 1 Radio and his latest single, “Pot,” brought that story full circle. With a father from Mali and mother from Japan, Yoshi24k grew up with a unique perspective and spending time in both West Africa and Japan informed his creative approach. Continuing to release all of his music independently, Yoshi24k has consistently put up major numbers with his video for “Coincidental” quickly surpassing 700K views on YouTube and videos for “Pot” and “Super Saiyan” earning over a million views a piece. Yoshi24k was tapped by Rolling Loud Festival to represent New York for their first line-up in New York and he also joined A$AP Rocky onstage during his headlining performance at the festival. With more new music and exciting collaborations set to be unveiled this month, Yoshi24k continues to set himself as an artist to watch in 2020.
