Global DJ/producer and entrepreneur Steve Aoki releases a colorful and nostalgic visual today to accompany his latest offering “Halfway Dead” featuring the legendary Travis Barker and rising star Global Dan. Part of Aoki’s newest album Neon Future IV releasing April 3rd, the video explodes with colorful and eccentric animations by artist Pix3lface who is known for creating visuals for DJs and fashion brands around the globe. Featuring early 90s emo-punk wardrobe, animations, and rebellious spirit, the video follows Aoki and Dan in a virtual care-free world that propels you back to the height of the era.
“Halfway Dead” is exactly the kind of reboot pop-punk needs. Global Dan captures that heartbroken yet snotty teen vocal with a hip-hop patois. And Barker (a seasoned mixologist in his own right) just slams the beats down.—Jason Pettigrew, Alternative Press Magazine.
