JAHMED Shares New Single and Zane Lowe World Record “JEEP”

Rap newcomer with the confidence of a veteran, JAHMED, keeps his foot on the gas with the release of his new single “JEEP” off his upcoming debut album, slated for release this March. Today, JAHMED returns with his latest video for the lead single, which premiered on HYPEBEAST and was named a World Record on Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 Radio Show. “JEEP” is a brash track with a booming low end that brings forth JAHMED’s raucous energy and encapsulates his hard-hitting, wide-array of influences. He weaves together elements of West Coast artists like Kendrick Lamar with those found in East Coast and Southern influences like Three 6 Mafia. The visual directed by Polygon, follows JAHMED as he raps alongside his broken-down JEEP while surrounded by a whirlwind of lyrics and abstract imagery citing life and death. The video also tells a much more personal story for JAHMED, referencing the passing of his brother on July 10th, 2010.

Speaking on “JEEP”, JAHMED shares: “JEEP’s meaning to me is feeling immortal and realizing how much worth one holds. It’s a confident and arrogant hook with insecure verses. You can hear fearlessness at the beginning of the record. Towards the end you hear fear of death.”

JAHMED brings a high-octane energy and eclectic style, having grown up between California’s Inland Empire and Texas. “JEEP” marks JAHMED’s third offering, and follows his recent loosie “FIAT” which was accompanied by a striking urban noir-styled visual filmed in his hometown of Pomona, CA and debut track “ARCHIVE”. The latter landed him a spin on both Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 Radio Show and Ebro Darden’s Beats 1 Show and resulted in JAHMED being named one of  Pigeons and Planes’ Best New Artists of the Month (January).
