Big Michigan Energy on Sango & Waldo’s Landscape Driven Video for "God Nem"

Michigan-bred artists Waldo & Sango return today with a cinematic official video for “God Nem” a highlight off Waldo’s 2019 album ‘Grove,’ produced by Sango & SAVON along with Esta, Mozaic, Simba, and Kaelin Ellis. more info on the album HERE.

Directed by Jonathan Salmon (Sango, Ben Zaidi, Joye Wrice) the video pays homage to the pairs hometown of Grand Rapids: “Being far from home is what you make it. ‘God Nem’ brings Michigan to any location. It’s a culture and way of life that no one can ignore.” – JGSAL

Alternating takes of Waldo (who is wearing an identical outfit to his ‘Grove’ album cover) and Sango performing outside Chino State Park, standing in the woods of Big Bear Lake, and driving around in their Ford F-150 create a real connection between the pair while showcasing Waldo’s lyrical flow and ease. Waldo shares, Shooting this video was a breath of fresh air. We wanted to bring the viewers into our world, and we got the opportunity to do so. Michigan culture has a voice, and I feel like we were able to represent a piece of that. Together the pair’s music has been described as a tantalizing sound that pairs ethereal flows and pungent poetics with scintillating production.

The video comes amidst Sango’s Quiet Storm Sessions Tour, which kicked off with a sold-out show at The Echoplex on February 6th and will continue across North American before concluding in Phoenix tonight.
