Today, hip-hop artist 42 Dugg announced that he will be releasing his forthcoming project, Young And Turnt 2, on Friday, March 27.
Young And Turnt 2 will feature collaborations with Yo Gotti, Lil Baby and Babyface Ray and production credits from 808 Mafia South Side, Tre Pounds, Helluva and Cozmo Beats, among others. The project serves as the follow-up to Dugg’s renowned mixtape, Young And Turnt, and will be jointly released via Yo Gotti’s Collective Music Group and Lil Baby’s 4 Pockets Full imprint.
In addition to unveiling Young And Turnt 2, the Detroit native also just dropped his latest single “Hard Times,” which is available today for streaming here.
Young And Turnt 2 punctuates a scorching month for Dugg, who recorded his first career placement on the Billboard Hot 100 this week with his collaboration with Lil Baby on “Grace.” On March 13, the duo dropped the music video for Grace, which has already garnered over 4 million views to date. Dugg was also slated to open for MoneyBagg Yo on the Time Served Tour before it was postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak.
“First and foremost, I just wanna thank everybody you know this last week and a half been kinda crazy,” said Dugg. “But you feel me it what it is. I’ll never let somebody or something steer me away from living my life, having fun and making music. Throughout this whole shit, I been contemplating like ‘Do I wanna act a mufucking fool and drop Vol 2 but I just couldn’t get in the spirit in there.’ With DAT BEING SAID IM BACK, VOL2 dropping next Friday!!!!!!!!!FREE DEM BOYZ FOREVER BIG4️⃣s..”
Dugg first started making music while in prison, making rhymes to pass the time before deciding to take his rapping more seriously. The same year he was released, he dropped “STFU,” a collaboration with Peezy, EWM Kdoe, Bagboy Mel, Cashkidd and EWM Buck that has amassed over 10 million views. The track was followed up by his breakout single, “The Streets (feat. Babyface Ray),” which caught the attention of hip hop superstars Yo Gotti and Lil Baby.

Gotti formally announced Dugg’s signing to Collective Music Group in March 2019, when the Memphis legend invited the up-and-coming artist on stage during the Detroit stop of Meek Mill’s The Motivation tour and gifted him with a CMG chain.
The gesture coincided with the release of Dugg’s inaugural Young and Turnt release, which featured guest appearances by Yo Gotti, Lil Baby, Blac Youngsta and Peewee Longway. The project has since racked up 30 million+ streams and 50 million+ views on YouTube. The lead track from the project, “You Da One (feat. Yo Gotti),” earned rave reviews from the likes of Complex, HYPEBEAST and FADER.
