Victoria Monet Announces Jaguar And Releases Official Visual For “MOMENT”

Victoria Monét is capitalizing on her moment, so to speak, delivering today a bold new video for her appropriately titled song “Moment,” the second single off her forthcoming project, Jaguar, slated for release this Spring via Platoon. Following the late 2019 release of self-love gym anthem “Ass Like That”, and four nominations at this year’s Grammys for her work on thank u, next, Monét purposefully catapults her own rising star into another dimension and outshines brighter than she ever has. The project serves as a declaration; an unapologetic artistic statement speaking volumes to female empowerment and sexual freedom, and “Moment” is an obvious highlight as the project opener. The video for “Moment” was shot in various outdoor landscapes in South Africa by Valentin Petit (A$AP Ferg). It sees Victoria intertwined with a love interest, lustily enticing her prey to come closer, lovebirds metaphorically placed amongst a landscape of beauty and tranquility and Monét’s signature earth tones. Monét rises to the occasion in a sleek and sexy visual marked by Petit’s artful, psychedelic VFX transitions that leave the viewer intoxicated, falling further into the fantasy.

Earlier this month, the Sacramento born, LA-based singer/songwriter revealed the title off her upcoming project, Jaguar. Victoria explained the name of the album, “I didn’t realize the similarities that I had with the actual animal the Jaguar, I found [it in] the way that they camouflage – they’re always there, in the jungle – people would look for them but can’t find them. I feel like them in the way I’ve been in the music industry for a really long time…but not always seen, I’ve been behind the scenes and I always and was waiting for someone to validate and affirm that I belong and that I should do this next thing. Like the Jaguar, I feel like now is just my time to be the hunter. I know what I want.” The focus of the just announced Apple Up Next Campaign, Monét will reveal the release date, tracklisting, art and more as the Spring release gets closer.
