Today, Reebok launches its first ‘Sport The Unexpected’ campaign for the new decade, featuring recently inked brand partner Khalid. An award- winning R&B singer-songwriter, Khalid and Reebok are united by their mission to inspire creativity, experimentation and self-expression in today’s youth. Bringing this bold attitude to life, the new campaign features two of Reebok’s most iconic sneakers: Classic Leather and Club C, fusing the brand’s revered heritage with Khalid’s disruptive spirit.
Originally released in 1985 as the Club Champion, the Club C debuted as a performance tennis shoe and eventually paved the way for white leather to leave the court and enter the wardrobe. An embodiment of Reebok’s long-standing heritage in performance, Club C has since firmly established itself in the sneaker hall of fame. Sported by the likes of Gigi Hadid and Cardi B, Club C has quickly landed its feet amongst casual athletes and fashion tribes alike.
Similarly, Classic Leather, originally introduced in 1983 has evolved from an OG running shoe into a symbol of style in its own right. Both effortlessly old-school and casually contemporary, its appeal is conveniently signposted into its name.
To celebrate Reebok’s classic footwear icons, the campaign captures 21-year-old Khalid in realistic settings exposed through highly-saturated imagery, bringing his unique energy to life unlike ever before.
Pairing the Sport The Unexpected direction with Khalid’s authentic and charismatic self, the new Reebok x Khalid campaign is set for release on February 3rd.
