Mija has released the first single and title track off her debut full-length album, Desert Trash. The track features vocals, writing, guitar and production from Mija herself, along with additional production from Dave Sitek (of TV On The Radio and Janes Addiction). The song was written in El Paso, Texas and explores feelings of loneliness and isolation, backdropped in the stark setting of the desert.
Always one to surprise and defy expectations, the lead single from her album is a waltz time track featuring strings and vocals reminiscent of favorite 90s artists Fiona Apple and Mazzy Star. Having first risen to recognition as a versatile and well-respected electronic act, Mija will be challenging her personal artistic boundaries by performing the new album live with a full three piece band and herself on vocals. Listen to “Desert Trash” below and catch Mija on tour soon.
