Kilo Kish’s latest song “Nice Out,” is available today. “Nice Out ” is the second single from Kilo Kish’s forthcoming EP Redux due out on Blacksmith Records in December. In the new video, Kish sings about letting go of the past as she muses on emerging from isolation after shutting herself off to work. To watch the video, click HERE.
Redux marks Kilo Kish’s fourth collaboration with producer Ray Brady and explores Kish’s varying musical influences, including electronic, synth, alternative, hip hop, and dance-punk. The title Redux is emblematic of Kilo Kish’s career, marking a revival of creative power and personal authorship, bringing her and listeners an increased freedom and boldness.
Celebrated by Pitchfork as having the gift to “transform her racing thoughts into crackling electricity,” Kilo, who has collaborated with Rodarte, Maison Kitsuńe, and Vice, is known for creating vivid visual and wearable art. She’s co-directed several of her music videos, crafted a video game interface, presented a myriad of multimedia installations. “Kilo Kish is the type of multi-disciplinary artist you can never quite pin down, but wouldn’t want to anyway lest you risk clipping her wings,” noted Paper.
Kish, who Vogue has called “a true Renaissance woman,” also recently announced BLESSED ASSURANCE: a dream that i had, an immersive audio-visual installation that will debut at the HVW8 Gallery in Los Angeles.
Opening on November 15th, this show marks her second solo show at HVW8 Art + Design Gallery Los Angeles. The show features a 3-channel film euphoric featuring artist interviews and the revelations that come from creative practice. The exhibition runs from Exhibition runs Nov. 15th until Dec. 15th, 2019 and Kish will perform at the opening reception on Friday Nov 15th, 7 – 10pm.
