Today, hip-hop artist Royce 5’9”’s new song “Black Savage” was selected as the latest song for the NFL’s “Songs of the Season” series. All revenue generated from Songs of the Season will support NFL Inspire Change grant recipients with priority areas of education and economic advancement, police and community relations, and criminal justice reform.
“Black Savage” will be used throughout the NFL season in broadcasts, pre-game shows, post-game highlights as well as across digital streaming platforms. See below for the link:

“I’m honored to have ‘Black Savage’ be selected for Inspire Change and the Songs of the Season,” Royce 5’9” said. “Music has always been a form of expression for me, so for someone to tell me my music inspires them, that means everything to me.”
Songs of the Season is a multi-tier, season-long initiative that highlights superstars and emerging artists of all genres. The series showcases musicians that will create and deliver a song to be integrated across NFL platforms and promotions each month during the season. Each song will debut during an in-game broadcast and will be released to digital service providers (DSPs) worldwide.
The song will also serve as the lead single from Royce 5’9”’s upcoming, eighth solo studio album. The Detroit native has also released joint albums with Eminem (Bad Meets Evil) and DJ Premier (PRhyme) and is part of the hip-hop group Slaughterhouse with Joe Budden, Joell Ortiz and KXNG Crooked.
Songs of the Season first debuted in October 2019, when rising artist SASH premiered his single, “What Would a Champion Do?”
